According to the old clues (international, SPL player, captain of club) the only possibilities that make sense are:
1. Rangers captain Barry Ferguson http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Ferguson
2. Aberdeen captain Scott Severin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Severin
All other captains are defenders which I have excluded because logically, TFC isn't looking for defenders. Finally, Severin is no longer a Scottish international so I don't know if that changes anything.

This guy looks a lot like Scott Severin (in stature anyways, and haircut)....mentioned a few posts back.
They use #35 for just about every trialist. Tebily used #35 as already mentioned. So I think your gut instincts are correct.

Episode 8 was before the first DC game I believe...or after the Crew game.
Either way, I doubt it's the same person....I confident now after looking at it again.
