Most trialists balk after they come to BMO and not before while theyre trying out in Florida.

Is it the cold this time of year? Is the city not pretty enough? Is the sight of the CN tower emasculating? or is it the first impression they get when running on an uneven, overused plastic rug, laid on top of aggregate?

My understanding was that his trial was simply not impressive.

The Marshall trade was a freaking clear as day mistake. I refuse to believe it was anything but a premature act based on some other event that did not happen. Why he pulled the trigger then is something I can not forgive.

I am just so tired of this crap. As someone said, they made the assessment this guy is not good enough in 1 day ? I mean how could you do that ??? Carver has had over a year and he still has not figured out that Ricketts and Harmse suck !

I do not like Mo, I do not think (my distant perception) he is the kind of you want to deal with because you cant trust him. He is slippery if you know what I mean and I wonder how many deals fell through because of Mo's character or approach...no matter... if you dont trust the other guy, its hard to make a deal.

There was never any justification given for Marshall being dumped, he's a very good defender. Harmse is a disgrace at this level, I can't believe that carthorse gets a look.

That's what happens when you have people like Mo & Assembly, with no success or track record making key decisions.

Going back to jloome's post - If Mo has a CB signed from England already, why not announce it? If the deal is done on paper, its official? What can go wrong?

I don't think its official, I think its another situation, similiar to Huckerby. Where he'll come to the City, look around, and let Mo know what he decides.

This is happening way too much, I do not know if he is any good or not, but do they not watch film on guys they bring in to trial. None of them seem to work out.

Apparantly, he signed with Barcelona SC yesterday. That would pretty much be the cause of the "trial" ending.

While that seems to make more sense to me, too, it wasn't what I'd heard. Maybe it's contingent on something -- work permit when he as prior, or like you say, not getting a better offer in the meantime.

As has been stated here before, there's a perception among some MLS veterans that Mo is in way over his head, so it might just be him saying "it's a done deal," when it's not actually a done deal.

Or, maybe it's crap. I dunno. But the sources in question haven't been wrong before.

South American data in it has never been reliable. The less actual scouted data they have (and they have so much on Euro leagues that Everton bought rights to the Database) the more they substitute random numbers for some stats. It looks like in his case they didn't have his personal stats or an idea of his speed and movement.

But if you extrapolate the marking, tackling and positioning stats forward three years from the "12s" on the other page, that stays static. They probably had something simple on him, like a couple of Fifa international game sheets.
