Some good news: Toronto NFL group (Bon Jovi/Larry T/Rogers) aren't going to buy Bills and move them here. According to sources, there apparently some conflict between those three parties.

So this is good news for TFC who would have drop in Toronto's sports pecking order if NFL ever came to Toronto.

well its called Ottmar Hitzfeld Stadium, not really much of a stadium, it says FC Gspon, a small village team play there. You can only reach there by cable car, as no roads go all the way up to the field. The field is not the full measurements of a proper size field. Cool view and location tho none the less.

There's an ad on thestar.ca for TFC season tickets saying "The New BMO Field Awaits You." Nice to see that, but would be nice to see some more detailed plans about what is happening. It's been quiet for a while.

    Perhaps the ad should read:

The new BMO field- Wait for it...

Do we know if BMO is re-upping for beyond 2016. You would think Bell or Rogers would be interested in the Stadium rights.

In SN article where Grange interviews Lewieke, TL mentions that they have a couple of big announcements just around the corner.. more spin but I"m hoping one of these will be some updated renders of what we can expect for BMO field.

Big announcement is Raptors practice facility is going to be built on Exhibition place.

Not sure what other announcement is going to be.

Might be the bridge to far for MLSE - parking issues were raised at a meeting arranged by the local councillor. The Raptor facility is taking out a parking area nearer to Dufferin. People there are a bit more sensitive to parking then Liberty Village.

Looks like all the main issues have been put to rest. Even the baseball diamond will be lost and returned as parkland in four years when a permanent parking structure is built.

Exec Committee just voted yes in favour - including Rob Ford.

    ?????????????

I think you should be more worry about BMO field renovation and if there's going to be a roof right now not new stadium (even though it isn't going to happen now since Toronto group failed to buy Bills).

World Cup was nothing but speculation and talk.. it was never going to happen. If we got a stadium, it would likely be a replacement for Commonwealth Stadium that can be down sized afterwards, or a new site for the Stampede in Calgary that can be then split into multiple venues. (which is unlikely)

Final bids aren't submitted until Labour Day if I recall correctly. Still time to win that auction.

I agree about the roof. The Raps training center and the new BMO will be a big part of his legacy here.

I wonder if the BMO expansion is going to fall falt now that TL is moving on.
Also, where does this leave Defoe and Bradley?
If TL was the champion of TFC investment, what happens now?
As much opposition as there was/is to the Argos/BMO tradeoff that could come with expansion, at least it also represented an investment in TFC, their facilities, and the confidence that they could sell an extra 10,000 seats.

Renovations are guaranteed based on Bez.

Agreed. Our infrastructure deficit to hold the world cup is larger than any Canadian government's willingness to spend to close it (thankfully).

What does FIFA get out of Canada that someone else wouldn't provide more of? It won't be money or exposure....

Lawyers have signed paperwork with the city.

Its happening. Announcement next week I suspect. (you want it before a home game and a few weeks before the SSH renewal period starts.

I will say, from my understanding the Argos are not a part of this at all.

Good to hear, but until they get their own stadium I'm just going to assume Argos are coming to BMO at some point.
