BMO has potential......Grass will be in place....talk of a northend .... add a roof in the southend....and i could live with something that looks a little like this! FOR NOW!

I'd double the south end, then top it off with a roof. ^ I like!

I loved that stadium, I went to at least one game in each home series. At least 30 games a year. Good times.

Default Proposed Expansion of BMO FIELD

So we all read the reports some time ago that MLSE is interested in expanding seating at BMO Field... I believe it's to accomodate future open NHL games.

Anyhow, if this occurs in the future... do you think they finally will give us our own supporter controlled section then? Free from scalper seats... tourists and the like.

There are 2 main reasons for expansion:

    1. To try to host an outdoor NHL game.
    2. To take advantage of possible government funding from the Pan Am games committee.

I'm not sure if current demand for TFC tickets even warrants expansion.

My Family and Employment committments have increased two fold... how can we gurantee that the younger/new generation of RPBs and supporters who want to be part of our section set up to the plate and do what we do?

Without a supporters controlled section I can't see this happening.

I think they may give us a section only to appease and to help to compensate the atmosphere they will lose with an emptier stadium.

Agreed. The decision to expand seats at this stage would have very little to do with TFC. Sure, they'll take and extra seats sold, but they know they only need to sell on average 15,000 / game for TFC to turn a profit.

This is about having a venue where MLSE can host events where the requirement is more seats than BMO has now to generate the kind of revenue they want. A prefect example of the outdoor NHL game or bringing in high profile soccer teams. BMO can fit a niche in the market for an open air stadium for all kinds of events where the Rogers Center would be considered to big or not intimate enough.

If we haven't been given our own section by now, we probably never will.

I've been told from a reliable source that MLSE believes there are certain legalities involved which may prohibit the company from setting aside an entire section for use by one or more supporters groups. Basically, because there is a waiting list in effect for tickets, MLSE has to give those people a shot at seats as they become available and they can't force out people who don't want to move.

We (the Red Patch Boys) are partly to blame for not having complete control over 112. When the team first started selling tickets we asked only for 50 seats to be set aside in 112 for our members and we're really sure we could even manage to fill that!

Long story short: The only way we're going to be able to concentrate our membership is through the slow process of seat relocation at the end of each season. There's just no other way I see it happening.

Besides look at it this way, the only way they would set aside a section for "supporters groups" would be to have an official one where you pay them. Just because you ponied up the money to become a member of the RPB doesn't give you any more right to a special seat in their eyes. What about SGs that are not paid and anyone can join? Why wouldn't a scalper just join a SG and then pawn the tickets off. They wouldn't let that opportunity go by.

There is no way for that to work.

As cashcleaner said the opportunity has gone by the wayside, just work on trying to get it sorted year by year.

Whatever they do, I just want them to put a roof on top of the supporters section. That's my #1 request, wish, and heck, even demand at this point. Anything short of that and my middle finger will remain extended towards MLSE and TFC management.

I suspect they'll offer the north stand to sg's as part of their damage control and a bid to quiet the boards.

I doubt it. Why would they give that section to people who pay less than half what those seats are now going for?

cmon rocker, just cause we disagree on everything, I dont think you're stupid, so cut it out.

    a) those seats are currently redundant, they dont sell.

    b) if the yellows are moved to the north end, they can eventually turn the current yellows to greys.

Turning the yellows in the south to greys is a possibility but the seats would have to be upgraded. As for those seats currently being redundant I am certain that there are many people currently in the Reds who will gladly cut their bill in half to scoop those up.

As for a roof. It should be stadium wide if it's going to be done or ticket prices should be increased/decreased to accommodate those with better/worse seating.

The north end seats haven't been sold yet. We just need to ask for them. (Even if its unlikely we get them).

Fuck the north, south, east and west stands.

MLSE needs to make a bridge across from the two sides, with a glass floor, that we can watch the game from while yelling directly down at the opposing players.

Imagine if you're playing and you're being insulted from the sky. Now THAT is true fear
