Default TFC vs NYRB IMG Suncoast Pro Classic

I hope I didnt miss a different thread. I am so pumped for this game! Pre season my ass, Both teams are going to want to win this one outright. Very excited for wednesday to come.
In other news, is Columbus just wrecking this or what. I saw the 7-0 score than I saw them beating costa rica u-23? if I got that correct.
Would love a game against any national side for TFC

Hate to tell you this but Vanney has indicated the starters will not be playing.

And Bradley is in New York at the CBA negotiations.

Why does this guy always have to play hero. Captain America. We need our captain with the team building our team culture and working on our system.

Why wouldn't we send Bendik. He is solid and has nothing to learn when it comes to team systems. Our other keepers could use games anyways.

I don't understand how we let Bradley go. And when the season does get underway you can bet Vanney, Bez and probably him will blame 'Bradley having to leave to take care of cba stuff' as a reason for why the team isn't oerforming to where they should be. That it impeded the team.

Bradley was never going to be playing on Wednesday anyways.. the majority of the first team if not all are taking the day off as per Vanney. They will all be playing on Saturday.

Bradley is the union rep, voted on by his teammates. Did you think the team was sending him to represent the players?

I don't think it's up to the club which representative goes; it's up to the players. And really, there's some things (and I am suggesting labour negotiations) much more important than our performance this year. If Bradley is the better negotiator he should definitely go. These negotiations will have much more significance to the long-term development of the game in N. America and here in Toronto than whether Bradley shows up for one friendly.

Yup they confirmed they want to get the guys on a 1-game-a-week rhythm which is the norm at the beginning of the system, ramp them up gradually -- I know that busier stretches will also be happening.

    It drives him.

That and his agent is one of the more powerful ones in MLS circles. Having one of the leagues Marquee DP's at the CBA negotiations is a PR coup for the union.

Even though it probably means we'll get thumped, I'm ok with the bench playing this game. They need the playing time and they need to step up and do better than they did vs OKC. We're going to need to rely on these guys during a lot of the season, especially during Gold Cup.

Hmmm...B team, eh? Will we see the same formation?

    -------------------Konopka---------------------
    --Bloom??---Zavaleta--Hagglund---Morgan--
    -----------Warner--------Jackson???----------
    --Moore???-----Mannella???-----Delgado----
    -------------Dike???---------------------------

Maybe we'll see Findley, Lovitz or Creaville, or even Chapman, Aparicio or Hamilton!

either way its a game against NYRB so it probably has meaning to the players rather than OKC and Koge. I could see Zavaleta, Warner, Jackson, Moore and Dike all as starters if anyone on the starting 11 dosent do as planned.

    I'm wrong on that one.

I agree with Dutch though - should see a bit more starters and people fighting for spots.

Is anyone else worried that we have had piss all in regards to pre season action for the boys to jell? This is the one game against an opponent considered our equals and we are playing the B team. Not saying that we should be playing the A team but come on...some more pre season action against quality opponents would be nice. I feel we are going to Vancouver drastically underprepared.

Anyone do the search on what others teams did in pre-season?

I know one of the main reasons ours wasn't up to scratch was the lack of commitment for a tourney when the CBA is still up in the air...

Season kicks off in about 10 days. I hope we will continue to field the best 11 in the first half at least. Need to keep giving them minutes.

Not too bad actually. We've been playing our best players in both our first games. I hope we will continue to do that. No point in testing out how bench or trialists gel with each other. Vancouver will punish us!

If anyone remembers the nightmare injury-filled preseason we had last year, personally I don't mind them taking it a little easier on the starters this year.

I remember we hired that new fitness coach at the start of last year. No injuries in preseason thus far... is that fitness coach still with the club?

I thought that coach/trainer was fired along with the majority of the coaching staff. Vanney brought in all new staff except for Jason Bent.

Interesting. Might have to keep taps on Chicago's health going into the season.

I'm willing to accept some bad luck but it was insane how many injuries we had in preseason last year. Someone was pushing the team too hard.

Starters: Konopka; Bloom, Hagglund, Zavaleta, Morgan; Chapman, Warner, Delgado, Lovitz; Moore, Dike.

Bench: Bernal, Charpie, Bono, Aparicio, Simonin, Molham Babouli, Ramos.

Would love to see Simonin and Babouli off the bench especially.

I see no reason to not play your starters for half a match. It is preseason after all against real competition
Really am excited to see Zavaleta, Delgado and Simonin. I want to see Dike healthy and fighting for a spot.
Can any of these defenders take hagglund and blooms spots I wonder.
Where is Creavalle in all this, I couldnt find him.

Going to be an interesting one. Looking forward to seeing the "B" squad in action.
