Another existing problem: stadium not winterized, i.e., un-insulated pipes, risk of frost damage etc.

Does anyone know if those issues are being addressed this time?
The east side suites and such are being winterized. There is lots of insulation and fireproofing going in.

There hasn't been much talk about the new scoreboard and sound system. Will it be completed for this season? How large will the new video board be?

I was under the impression that the scoreboard would be coming in Phase II (next year).

Precisely. 9 games a year. Pre-season hasn't been played at Rogers in recent years, so no reason it has to be at BMO.

Some US stadium have double that AND Desso and is fine for the occasional soccer game.

Just because the Argos haven't played preseason at Rogers doesn't mean it will not be done at BMO. BMO will be better and cheaper for them then Varsity or a novelty game somewhere. And as I've already indicated, the Metro Bowl will likely move to BMO. And how long before there is a move to have the Vanier Cup at BMO? i.e. We are looking at 11 + games.

    &

Gridiron fields in the US with Desso use a higher synthetic % then a soccer pitch does.

I'm not averse to that. The standard Desso soccer pitch has 1 synthetic blade every two centimetres. If they double the density it shouldn't be an issue, but quadrupling the density might be too much. So long as it still plays like grass but provides better stability. How did the fields in Green Bay and Denver hold up this year?

I believe that Denver is ripping theirs up right now, and replacing it with 100% Kentucky Blue Grass. But that's after about 15? years. Not sure what the lesson from that is ...

Mods should close this thread since we already got a thread to talk about Argos move to BMO field and another thread to post pictures of BMO field expansion.
