Making space for Argos not a real priority as TFC owner ponders addition of 8,000 seats

In news sure to bring smiles to thousands of people on Toronto FC's season-ticket waiting list, the club's owner is looking at an expansion of BMO Field.
"Everything you see right now says that there's a market for more than 20,000 seats," said Tom Anselmi, executive vice-president and chief operating officer with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment.

Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd. has a plan in its back pocket to expand BMO Field by 8,000 seats to ease the wait list of 14,000 for TFC season's tickets.
The first winning campaign by its soccer team and a playoff gate or two would be plenty of incentive to swing the hammer and add real grass, both which seem inevitable.
But while one need not be in place to follow the other, the opening of TFC's third MLS season this week puts it back on the local sports map, but under much closer scrutiny.

One final kick for Dichio and it's time for a new life

This is Danny Dichio's 19th spring with a professional soccer team and he has all the aches, bumps and bruises to prove it.
"This will be my final year," Dichio said yesterday, emerging from the trainers' room.
At 6-foot-5, Dichio is an imposing presence but he freely acknowledged that all the body parts don't move quite as well as they once did.

The FAN 590 to broadcast every Reds game this season
Toronto FC announced Tuesday that the club has teamed up with Toronto's 24 hour sports radio station The FAN 590 to broadcast every game this season. With the team heading into their third season in Major League Soccer, this will mark the first time Toronto FC games will be broadcast on the radio in the team's history. The FAN 590 will broadcast all 30 games on the schedule. Fifteen games will be broadcast live in their entirety, with two to be joined in progress. The remaining thirteen games will air on The FAN's website www.fan590.com.

CANADIAN DE ROSARIO READY TO STEP IN FOR TORONTO FC
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Canadian international Dwayne De Rosario dreamed of playing for Toronto FC, and now the eight-year MLS veteran faces the biggest challenge of his career.
De Rosario, who was traded from Houston to Toronto in the offseason, has never missed the playoffs in his MLS career. He's won four MLS Cups titles - two with San Jose and two with Houston - and was named MVP in two of those finals.
Over the last two seasons in Houston, De Rosario helped the Dynamo to a 28-13-9 combined record. Two seasons ago, Houston won the second of back-to-back MLS Cups.
