Sean De Silva scored the game's only goal on a free kick in the 82nd minute to give Trinidad and Tobago a 1-0 win over Canada in the opener of the CONCACAF men's under-20 championship last night in Macoya, Trinidad.
De Silva found the net after a foul by Canada's Philippe Davies one minute earlier. He blasted the shot to the right of the Canadian wall and into the top corner of the net, leaving goalie Adam Street with no chance on the play.

Sounds like Serioux had a rough game.

I know we count discount the cards, but i thought other than the cards, he looked better than Tyrone Marshall.

also I think this is only his 2nd preseason competitive game, as we rehabbing for most of FC Dallas' training camp until right before he was traded.

I want to rate Serioux as highly as anyone, and I mean I liked some of his touches and throw ins, but you really can't get away from the fact that, within 45 minutes of play, Serioux gave away a penalty and got sent off. That's really not a good thing for a central defender (or any player on your team). I hope he just needs to get settled within our defence and will stop making such poor decisions. Perhaps surprisingly to some here, Harmse seemed to have a solid game, and didn't really make the sort of poor decisions people on this board expect of him.

Anyone know if the red will keep him out of the next game? I know the 3 sub rule doesn't apply, so I'm not sure if the red will keep him out. I really hope not, since he REALLY needs to redeem himself for that one.

Also, I agree with some comments I read on another part of this board, if Velez had been the one who had the exact same game Serioux did, he would have been crucified on this board.

"stop making" makes it sound like he's been making these poor decisions for a while though.

He made 2 poor decisions in 1 game. He has 1 career red card in over 50 MLS games played, so nobody can crucify him because he doesn't have any history of this kind of stuff.

If he was a regular offender, then what happened yesterday would fit into a long line of conduct. But I think something about his reputation has circulated and caused people to think he's rash and undisciplined.

For now I chalk it up to rust. DC also saw two guys get reds (one being a Canadian defender as well) so it's just a sign of spring training rust to me.

I thought the rest of his game looked pretty good, and better than Marshall, who he replaced.

Agreed, those two mistakes seemed to me were made out of desperation. He was caught off guard and didn't have the fitness level to fix it. The attackers flew by him. I trust those mistakes will not happen once he gets rid of the "rust". Like JC said on the post game interview, better now that during the regular season.
