I dunno. Since Kreis interviewed for the Chicago job, (sounds like there was a mutual feeling that it was not a good fit) seems he is eager to get on somewhere sooner rather than later.
Understood, within the limits of roster rules. He may only be able to have at most 3 from the EDS but I'm thinking he might get some players higher on the development priority list than the type...
I agree that putting Vieira in was probably in the plans all along. I'll take the less popular view that he'll do better than Kreis, and it won't be a mess. He has done a solid job with the MCFC...
That's an very intriguing idea. I don't think Manning is interested at all in replacing Bez but this would be a super smart move.
Kreis makes sense and I think Manning would consider, but only if Kreis really wants the job. He's not going to beg him.
Bez is not getting fired. Put that out of your head.
I fear that the type of foreign manager that everyone would feel was decent enough to be worth it, isn't looking for work in North America.
Small consolation but IMO next season, even the worst that Vanney can do to mess up won't compare to how big a train wreck Capello would be at NYCFC.
It's possible to explain away some individual problems. Williams slipping and setting up the 2nd goal was a fuck up. But looking at the last three games as a whole, it has all the signs of a collapse...
Not sure a coaching change comes before an executive change, and I'm not sure we'll see an executive change (ie naming of a team president) until Tim L knows for sure when he's leaving. There...
Number one target without a doubt but it's going to be difficult to find someone who is both a known quantity and an upgrade. Probably not difficult to find someone not currently in MLS, but that is...
and also a rumor of player revolt
^ I keep coming back to this. It really is the road untraveled.
Still getting used to TFC's new worldwide celebrity status.
I'm not smart enough to use the new tweet tags but https://twitter.com/RonWaxman/status/628686930172092416
Ron Waxman laughs at the Solskjaer rumor.
Yeah, it's a head scratcher, given all the talk about bringing in a top soccer executive for that role.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær rumor may be regarding team president rather than coach, per Duane R.
Guess it's time to fire this up again.
It's like their heads were somewhere else...
Agree 100%. Seemed very different than from the Winter firing. Wasn't about salvaging the season, it was about eliminating conflict.
IIRC Charlie Stillitano, former MetroStars GM and now match promoter, broadcaster, etc. has talked about that at length. He brought in Carlos Queriroz (1996) and most prominently Carlos Alberto...
Still hoping that a new team president is hired and if changes are part of that, they are done in an orderly and up front manner.
Hey, it's possible!
Can't lie, was just thinking about this very topic...I see I'm not alone in that.
