It seems questionable whether replacing Almiron with the reigning South American footballer of the year rates to be a meaningful downgrade for ATL.

Not really apples to apples. Janson's strike rate as a striker was probably quite a bit lower than his overall rate due to the brace he got in the one game he played out wide.
It also means a CB pair made up of possibly the two least talkative players on the team, which isn't much of a qualification for either to function effectively in the organizer / communicator role.
Fwiw, Hedges has about as many USMNT caps as Marky Delgado.
Agreed, especially with respect to replacing him in his role as the organizer / communicator at the back. There's currently no one else on the team suited to perform this role, and the same is true...
Jozy's Cup winner because... Cup winner.
It depends how important you feel fact-checking is. WTR is a secondary source, the writer there did not cite the original source, and it appears the person who used WTR as the source here did not...
Mino signed and Taintor back on loan?
How? I'm not familiar enough with the roster rules to know what mechanism they can use.
He's only able if he's on an MLS deal that no one knows about.
2-1 first leg at home vs Tigres, then 3-1 first leg at home vs CA, so isn't 4-1 pre-ordained first leg at home vs Chivas? ;)
There's no sure way of knowing, but fwiw, if we accept the assumptions that (i) TFC and the other top few MLS teams are at least close to the level of the top few LMX sides, and (ii) MLS has a higher...
If you feel there's no doubt that Balo would play to the best of his ability in MLS without disrupting the team mentality that has taken years to build, maybe you're not exactly to convince either.
How much will they care about another yellow if it becomes apparent TFC will advance?
Agreed that some may not realize how low the likelihood of winning CCL is. I would hope that 80/20 is too severe, but even if each of the three remaining rounds is a 50-50 proposition, which seems...
Image that.. grossly over-stating things in a matter of politics in the US.
So Tauro isn't good because their wiki entries aren't accurate? };-p
It seems to be just a single writer's opinion. There's no indication he's speaking for MLS or even any of the other writers.
Depends if we think his 2016 or 2017 version is the real Morris.
I watch matches from other leagues, but only care mildly if at all which team wins. So I guess I'm pretty pure.
Since neither JHams nor Spencer is on the senior roster afaik, unless the proven scorer is also not, he would use up a senior roster slot. And if he has to carry a (near-) minimum budget charge like...
Again, consider the full context. For one thing, given that the forecast for tonight has been known for some time, how likely is it that doing what you said would have moved the needle in terms of...
Seems like a good idea to prioritize the MLS season considering the situation - a new coach who seems to be introducing both a new formation and a new style to a team with a number of new players,...
Haters gotta hate, and they have fewer possible targets than they did in seasons past, when for example, we saw much more negativity directed at Bradley and Jozy.
MLS named the GAs who will remain in the program when they announced the 2018 group. Bono wasn't named, so he's out.
