Awesome. I’ll likely need 4.
Vancouver-based TFC fans: is there anyplace in Vancouver you gather to watch games? I'm in Vancouver this week looking for housing (relocating from Washington later this summer), and would enjoy...
Happened to us 3 years ago--not with internationals, but with DPs, and meant us shipping off Laba.
Teams just have have to be compliant with roster rules by today, by they can still make signings beyond today.
No. Otherwise Simonin wouldn't have needed to sign an MLS contract last season.
I've seen us play nothing but a 4-3-3 so far in preseason.
Yes, there is; VWFC were going tO lose him in the re-entry draft on Friday anyway. Again, don't let facts get in the way, though.
What? He's 28. He's started 27 games each of the last three years and started both games in the playoffs against Portland. Don't let facts get in the way, though.
It's a 1. It's spelled out in the text immediately preceding: "One million, one hundred forty five thousand."
As you said, he is injured.
Answer is in the article. From 1997. So, second season. Not recent though, in terms of league history. There was a change in 2003. All in the article.
Not true. Not recent. MLS has always had the option of counting 2 assists.

Big difference between denying the rumor and saying it is "inaccurate."
A link is always useful.

Stop quoting Wikipedia; it's not a source. Any asshole can post whatever they want there.
Panic? Need, yes. Payne and Nelson did the best with their contacts to augment the shit squad they inherited without burdening the squad or the budget with the long-term inflated prices and egos that...
We can agree to disagree. In fact I'll go so far to agree that it is rare, but it is not unusual, as you first suggested. A simple google search turns up more examples. Marco Pappa, Henry, Pepe.......
And when Hunter Freeman was here he had a deal in place already in whatever Northern European league he went to. It is common enough.
Doesn't happen all the time, but is common enough. Lewis Holtby had a deal to leave Germany for Tottenham next season; only weeks later did Spurs get him earlier in the January window for a fee.
Not clear at all.
Fair enough. But I think if the club were thinking about buying him out, they would have wanted to maximize the result of doing that by doing it before the cap-hit deadline. Appears to me they're...
Even if we did/could by him out by then, his contract would still count against the cap (deadline for that was early March). So don't see the merits at this point.
This is exactly what it's about. This is a single entity league, all contracts are with the league. If teams are bidding against one another for a player, the league is really bidding against itself.
Yes, but Lindsey's occurred because he wasn't careful, not the team.
Let's not get carried away with this line of thinking. If you think certain segments of the US population or American industry don't indulge in rhetoric and practices of protectionism, you're kidding...
