There were lots of stock car races, and monster truck events, at the Ex when I was a kid.
Not sure that's true for soccer, but I agree overall. If I owned BMO, they did what I would have done. There's a reason all the SSSs are in the deep burbs, and the downtown stadiums are mostly...
I liked the original open air north end with the beer garden, I think it could be good, actually
I think it's a shame Leiweke isn't around for this.
The hyperbole would be set on 11.
^Nice column. Glad to read a positive review of "The Big Top".
This thread is like watching grass grow.
Will there be a crank handle for the fans to raise and lower the roofs? I certainly hope so.
(ER, you made my day showing up here!)
I'll say this, it'll be ours.
No other stadium in the world looks like that.
I think you guys are underestimating the possibility that the Argos get seriously reinvigorated by going to BMO.
Not saying it's going to happen, I really don't know, but it might.
Seems to me that when we get rain and wind it's swirling around all over the place - I know this because any perceived advantage or disadvantage in the second half often seems to have changed, by the...
If only it were a few rows.
If I was to guess, I say 2/3 or 3/4 of the fans will not be protected in a driving rain.
Only the upper deck on the east side is really protected.
Actually, it isn't. But to each his own, I guess.
I agree with those who are saying this only really makes sense for a bigger stadium.
Anytime there is both rain and wind (which mostly what we get), those roofs will leave thousands exposed to it (including the entirety of the south end).
Spot on. Except they might give us the field turf next year too.
My guess is that's probably in the 2019 plan, but they could move it up if they think they can get away with it
To me it's just very strange. They spent probably half of the budget on the roof, say $60M. But it won't cover a lot of people - thousands of people in the best seats will continue be exposed to the...
Sorry if this has been covered .... is the idea that this can easily be expanded to 60K or something? Is that why the roofs are so high?
There is nothing to be learned from Russia's stadium building orgy. Even if the facilties are nice.

The roof just seems absurdly high.
I fear that the decision to add the roof and the upper deck for $120M, rather than knock the whole thing down and start over, may have been penny wise but pound...
Shade at 12 noon?
Makes sense. Thanks.
Is some sort of ruggedized router setup for stadium wifi for the public being installed?
Je me souviens le Beer Garden.
