The Budweiser/Inbev deal brings money to the Whitecaps from the largest beer company in the world, which can be translated into possibly making the club more successful in terms of; on-pitch...
Just wanted to point out some facts.....
-Empire Field isn't a permanent stadium. It's a temporary facility made completely of scaffolding, albeit costing $14m. It will be dismantled as soon as BC...
This thing is a steaming crock. There is no way that leagues in Singapore and Hong Kong, who are CITIES, are better than MLS!
Whitecaps partnership with Bell worth more than US$4 million annually
Executives at Bell Canada and the Vancouver Whitecaps refuse to say how much the Canadian telecom will pay to be the founding...
^They will only be playing at Empire from the beginning of the MLS season until the summer then move into BC Place. The stadium will not be completely finished until the Fall though but will be open...
I cannot believe Sportsnet will not be showing a single match of the entire Championship in the Pacific region. It's downright disgusting. FFS, Vancouver is one of the teams in the bloody contest....
The airport isn't convenient to walk as it's at least 2-3 miles depending which way you go and you would have to walk along highways that aren't pedestrianised, which would mean prohibited.
Also...
I don't think it's debatable at all. The Caps would have already built a stadium in the burbs or at the PNE if that were the case.
Hockey numbers in Canada or even worse using hockey and baseball...
The main problem with the Empire Stadium/PNE site is it doesn't have any rail connections. Downtown/Waterfront location has metro, commuter rail, future tram, and ferry connections. Even Richmond is...
It's a lot of money obviously but I think people need to look past the stadium being a sole purpose for sport or for the Caps in particular. The refurb of BC Place would be done regardless of the MLS...
That's not true. A renovated BC Place could install a modular natural grass system that can be taken out for different events. Greentech was used ( http://www.greentechitm.com/systems/multiuse.asp )...
I was thinking that. The chants seem so much louder and recognisable on this MSG broadcast than on SN or CBC.
Thanks for the links chaps!
The atdhe and channelsurfing links both are working for me on IE but not with Firefox for some reason.
I won't complain about the Yank commentators.
....and to...
For us westies this sucks. Instead of showing Canadian content SN has decided to give us Seattle Mariners baseball. Not only is this sport not in Vancouver, but Seattle has nothing to do with...
Great hearing that from Dero.
They better talk about his comments on the post game show.
Here's how I think the show should be done.
-During the match, cameras always stay on the action(including fan reaction to goals, etc). If CBC must, then the only thing acceptable to cut away for,...
This is painful listening to Alexis and his lame friend.
Regardless....it's great to have a match to watch on a Thurs night!
Why don't they advertise the proper time for kickoff? It says 6pm PST everywhere I look, but it's not till 6.30
Halftime announcment for 18th expansion team!
I was standing next to Alexis once in a pub way back in the day when he had his afro red hair. He was drunk and acting like a big ladies man. It was very embarrassing to all within earshot.
I love how Yank commentators say, "saccer".
Ok...the rojadirect one works but has college basketball. The ESPN dorks said the Seattle match will be on after the basketball game. So it's taped?.....this is really confusing.
I can't get any links working. Any others?
The mundocramex link on Justintv has bloody basketball.
This one won't even load - http://atdhe.net/live-tv-5287.html
Lenarduzzi said that they will not be giving up the Caps' developmental system saying this is how the rest of the world does it - pro clubs develop their players - and he went on to say MLS is...
Let me guess. You were not old enough to be around when Vancouver, Seattle, and Portland had top-tier, professional, footy teams. There's a big difference between supporting a USL club and a club a...
