Meh. We weren't very good, they were just awful.
I mean, it's like FIFA on easy out there... but Mailula is playing a blinder, given the chance.
If we lose to this team, or even don't win convincingly, it will be a little humiliating. The difference is large.
Ah, the usual small, snide remarks from the OneSoccer crew.
"What HAS your message BEEN to them as they PREPARE to play the game of their lives even...."
They spend much of their times in the narrow channels in Herdman's system, so JMR and Franklin will be doing most of the actual wing work.
Andi Petrillo stresses all the wrong words.
"What does it mean to watch this national championship GROW?"
Although in our usual well-earned cynicism, I did think it was a rather bright spot this morning when I realized we have one more win than Columbus so far this season.
Yeah, they're probably looking at the metrics of the league generally, as well, which shows not a lot of room for revenue growth, as well as profits that in no way relate to the overall club...
From his presser, I'm guessing we're getting mostly backups and TFCII kids.
Hopefully Mailula gets a start, and Thompson. They need chances to prove themselves in real game situations. Be good to...
Everything Molinaro has reported about them being on a short budget leash is basically the same stuff I was getting from my sources last year and this; they blew it on the Italians, so the gloves are...
Columbus used him as an inverted forward the season he scored nine, and most of them were by beating the back line to balls, not long shooting. A few Crew fans have said that as long as he was being...
Yep. I think this whole season is a prover for Pelley and the board as to whether Manning stays and whether Hernandez has prospects.
Nah, as mentioned above, he's the backup for the guy we didn't get.
Still, decent upside, quick, creates dangerous situations. Fills a hole we have, which is some transitional speed in midfield,...
Now THAT is decent business.
They might even let us play with 11. (I assume you meant to put the new guy next to insigne...)
Columbus fans say he's very talented but massively inconsistent. He runs hot and cold.
He had one really good season going into free agency, which prompted Atlanta to take him on. Then he...
I'm not sure why; we have no cap space, no budget left and no board support for expensive players. We were going to get a player another team didn't want anymore. That doesn't always equate with a...
HAHAHA, good to start the day with a laugh. (Yes, I'm just starting my day. I'm a novelist, we start our day by avoiding work for as long as possible).
Who knows, maybe we get five-plus goals out...
No, I think they see him as an important player. I mean, he had nine goals and six assists in one season in 2022. He clearly has ability and they're gambling he just didn't fit in Atlanta.
He can...
He's very talented but has been inconsistent. Had a great year with Columbus that got him his Atlanta deal, then had trouble cracking the starting lineup half the time.
Perhaps he got lost in...
I've sent a couple of contacts a reasonably polite "what the fuck?" notes to see if I can find out what happened. We'll see. I suspect this was another case naiveté in action.
Jim Brennan's take this week on Footy Prime was that we should put out a strong team and try to wax them 15-0. Be good for morale, basically.
I'm not adverse; most MLS weeks until Leagues Cup are...
I'd assume somewhere around midnight, but whether it's east coast (where MLS offices are) or west coast, who knows. The rules just say today is the last day.
