Hey Oldtimer, thanks for the assist with that piece of business yesterday; appreciated.
It can't be easy with fools as me. I envision you, your moderating, in a spirit of fun and sincerity as a... The Commissioner Of Football, 'King Eric' Cantona...

Don't think Insigne will need the assist to do this with our goalkeepers... well maybe if Borjan joins.

What is interesting and likely fun to watch about Insigne is that enough of his goals come from outside the box shots.
Something I believe is historically lacking on TFC.
Came across some podcasts yesterday, b or c tier?, mentioning during discussions about Insigne's TFC signing that aside from the money, there may be a quality of life aspect to his decision and having his family- children exposed to another culture and learning English. Sorry, unable to re-find the podcasts to link.
Its SIGNING DAY.......:scarf:
What’s going on today? And why today on Saturday?
^That makes sense.
Teams in England used to make big announcements on Saturdays because the outsize role of the Sunday papers over there. But that has probably changed. Not sure if that is still true in digital age, or whether it was ever true in Italy.
So weird being excited for a tweet, but we deserve this tweet. Lorenzo Insigne.
It depends on the person, but I think lifestyle and a bit of personal freedom could be the single biggest factor. Giovinco certainly said it, and his family is still here.
These guys live very weird lives in Europe. Elite football is a world with a truly distorted value system. Plus, like the Leaf players here, an Insigne really can’t ever just go out to dinner or go out to the mall over there.

The freedom part I get but trading an espresso in an old piazza for a Starbucks in the Eaton Centre would be a hard lifestyle choice change. Hopefully he’s prepared for that part.
TFC's official Twitter off to a blazing start this morning with a borderline racist post they were forced to delete.
You're welcome, we don't get a lot of thanks for a sometimes difficult job, so appreciated.
It's one way I can help (I've also done banner making a few times, and of course done road trips and chanted in the stands). You seem enthusiastic! Consider joining the RPB and help raise support for the team (pandemic situation permitting) whether by chanting, banner making, or whatever skill set you have.
Any further communication about moderating please do by PM. Let's stay on topic. 🙂
So where is this announcement going to be. Twitter? The website and their YouTube channel shows nothing.
What was it? Some "boppity boopity" kinda thing? If so, I'll give them a pass since it's probably Giacometti doing it. (EDIT: Yup, figured)
On a similar note, good luck getting many Italians to sing that Insigne song, at least in its original Neapolitan form, LOL. It's a fun one, though.
Insigne!! Looks like he will be wearing 24.

Dear Wopchop,
On behalf of the club, Happy New Year! As we work to restore Toronto FC as a championship contender, today is a historic and exciting day. As you have no doubt heard through media reports over the past several weeks, we are very pleased to officially announce to you today the signing of Italian International Lorenzo Insigne as a Toronto FC player. Lorenzo will join TFC on July 1 at the conclusion of the Italian Serie A season.
Lorenzo is a world-class attacking player in the prime of his career. He is a European champion with Italy and has performed on the biggest stages during his club career as captain of Napoli. Lorenzo has the talent to change games. He plays the game with joy and passion and I just know you are going to love watching him as a member of our team as much as he will enjoy the support at BMO Field and in our community.
We are working tirelessly this off-season to return TFC to championship form for our city, fans and supporters. With Bob Bradley at the helm, and the addition of a world-class player like Lorenzo Insigne, we are confident that 2022 will be one of the most exciting seasons in club history.
Part of me still doesn't believe this. Absolutely incredible.
Upper management has made some terrible decisions over the years but wow you can't question their financial commitment to the club.
Don't think I've ever had the club email me about a new signing. Of course, they follow it with buy some more tickets haha
