morning Denime....I never thought I would be number 1!!!
-
Everyone is ragging on Kocic this morning, yes he screwed up but we wouldnt be in such a tight spot going into the second leg if some of his team mates could have actually put the ball in the net a couple of more times. I'm sorry but those Nicaraguans were brutal!

Agreed, but the team did do a good job of keeping their heads up and going forward for a third. Mistakes like that happen to the best of teams, it is more important to keep playing and helping the dude out.

ummm. . . WIN - FUCK YA
and let the griping begin. . . we saw 2 goals in a home game and came away with the result.. . . . . considering how this season has gone. we shoudl jumping up and down in jubilation.

we should be it's true, that was our 2nd win in july, equalling our best month of the season, (1 mar, 1 apr, 2 may, 1 jun, 2 jul) but I can't help but feel deflated as it should have been so much better.
and also a second report, from my twisted new western correspondent. a gong show this was not.
also, does the sun have a new policy about headlines being dickish to tfc?
-
^^ the Sun are dicks in general.
Well, never mind what could have been or what should have been. It is what it is. The second leg will now be a real test for them. They're not just fighting for a result, they're fighting the inevitable gamesmanship, the cheating, and a ref who'll favour the Nicaraguans.
We'll know soon enough if TFC has the minerals for it.

Actually I think the Sun may have a better handle on the mood of the average TFC fan than we do. I think TFC is becoming a laughingstock to casual fans. Perpetual bumblers and losers. The Cubs, but with no charm and a revolving door.
Here we are what, a hundred people who post maybe? Maybe less? and none of us feel that way. Most are angry, the majority want more time to figure it out, while there are a few who have seen enough. No one thinks it's funny.
We are not representative of "TFC fans". The papers are not writing for us.

Well thank fuck they're not writing for me. Dicks writing for dicks. Good for them.
Soooooo.... 105. Explain yourselves Canada. No, better yet, don't. Don't try to lay blame. Just apologize then shut it and do better, please and thank you.
Can't wait for the draw this weekend!!!

What happened in 105?
-
hahaha
105 is our new FIFA ranking.
:(
-
Does anyone know how many games Canada plays in the 2nd round of qualifying? I'm guessing 3 in that short amount of time.

They play 6. Group of 4 - home and away.
Only the winner of the group advances to the next round.

Does this mean Stephen Hart will be our coach for the upcoming qualifiers? I thought he would've been let go by now. That's pathetic.
Although, knowing the CSA, they'll just put Nick Dasovic in his place.

Not TFC related, but MLSE related.
How petty does MLSE come across for crying out loud. Are they really worried that a less than 3000 seat arena is going to compete with the ACC?

No wonder people hate MLSE.

Wow, they are going to play 6 games in a 2 month span? Thats alot! Thanks for the answer. Someone might want to update the World cup page.

MLSE are big players in the event and concert business in Toronto. The new Maple Leaf Gardens could be direct competition.

World Cup qualifying in CONCACAF:
Round 1: Phase One - All the smaller and less developed nations(2 games head to head, home and away)
Round 1: Phase Two - All the winners of the previous round versus the larger football or higher ranked CONCACAF national teams, including Mexico, U.S., Canada.
Round 2: The winners of the Round 1: Phase Two, go into 3 groups of 4. They play 6 games, 3 away and 3 at home. The top 2 teams in each group advance.
Round 3: The top 2 teams of each of the 3 groups make up a single table of 6 national teams. They play 5 games at home and 5 away. The top 3 teams at the end of the 10 games played automatically qualify for the World Cup and will play in Brazil.
The 4th placed team goes into a head to head match up with the 5th placed team in the South American Qualifier. They play 2 games, one away and one at home. The winner gains a place in the World Cup.
PS*- Can you imagine "if" Canada were to finish fourth in the Round 3 and have to play a national team like Peru, Venezuela or Colombia. Yikes!:(

So much so they'd take an icon from the community. Guess they want to eliminate any memory Maple Leafs fans have of Stanley Cups.

When you can conjure up the money to get the CSA the money they need to hire a world class coach, you can talk.
Canada had one world class coach by the name of Holger Osieck and he was ousted by the players because they hated his guts.
Nobody wants to coach Canada, especially not without adequate compensation for all the headaches they'll have.
It's a football nightmare.

Even if they are trying to protect the Richo Centre (doesn't the city own it?), if they were to do concerts at Maple Leaf Gardens, the size of the venues (new MLG configuration vs. Ricoh) would dictate that they wouldn't be in competition with each other.
EDIT: Ricoh Coliseum is owned by the city by operated by MLSE.
-
Bob Bradley fired as USMNT coach.
-
MLSE may well be in the right about the MLG use thing. That was their price, from the very beginning, that the building not be used as a commercial venue.
Don't know enough yet to have a big opinion, looking forward to hearing Ryerson's side of the story.
