Gio won the golden boot, tie breaker is assists which Gio had 4 Oso had 0...
Hopefully we follow the same path as the last penalties loss. Let's win the cup and come back strong next year
Regardless what's the result tonight I am proud. I love this team and no matter what happened I still support them deep in my heart.
I knew it was not going to be TFC winning the trophy once I saw the Delgado miss. Had the same feeling after Frei save on Altidore during MLS Cup 2016 game.
I get that Hasler was gassed after playing in Houston game, but why Hamilton and going 4-3-3 when Jay Chapman was available? Leaving a gassed out Vazquez meant Delgado and Osorio had to run all over the place, hence why Chivas overrun TFC and was on powerplay for a lot of 2nd half. I dunno if the pressure got to Osorio, but he made a horrible giveaway for Chivas goal and had a really nervous look when taking the PK.
And Michael Bradley should never, ever take a PK ever ever ever again. He's just so bad at PKs.
I don't get the fixation on MLS, we just won the damn thing, had the best record ever, and steamrolled everyone.
You all want us to be a big club or what? Then win the hardest tournament with the best clubs on this continent.
MLS wins doesn't move the needle.
Fuck me, so gutted. Ever since MLS Cup Vanney and Co. made it clear the goal was to win this tourney and we came sooo close. Proud of the lads. Love this team. TFC til I fucking die. Thanks for the wild ride boys.
Good tournament, despite all the injuries. Now it's time to focus on MLS and Voyageurs Cup... CONCACAF needs to retool the tournament, reffing was horrible in the early rounds and no wiping out of the cards for the final.
I thought the same...
Though knowing this... you would think that the "coach of the year" would have though hey, we lost a trophy on PKs once.. maybe just maybe we should have the boys spend some time taking PKs to get their muscle memory working.. just in case..... oh no no ... just like why prepare the team just in case the other team is going to play the high press style they are capable of in Toronto instead of assuming they will sit back and then see the boys gets flustered when they don't.
I'm sorry but like MLS Cup 2016 this loss is in very large part on Vanney. And MB total lack of PK ability, and Delgado's off form with his final touch right now.
Blocking quite a few idiots on twitter right now.
Can't really think how I feel about this right now.
Need some time to process it.
we won the game
I am upset, but very proud of the team.
I could not care less for MLS at the moment, just wanted to win the CCL. My next focus will be on the Voyageur's Cup!
Seba with the brutal truth of a driven Juve player has it right.

No sense moping about it. We lost, end of story. We have 14 points to make up in the league. We need to regroup quickly, get players healthy (I really hope that wasn’t Jozy’s hamstring gone again tonight) and make a push for the trophy that really matters, the MLS Cup.
Should we win the Canadian Championship this season we need to rethink our strategy for CCL play next season. I understand we were on the verge of history this year with an unprecented quadruple up for grabs, and for that reason alone it was probably correct to throw all our resources at winning the CCL. However, it’s been a real costly adventure what with injured players and dropped points domestically. When we participate in this competition the future we need to adopt a much more balanced approach and not sacrifice MLS play completely for continental glory.
I think we should have a prerequisite for signing with the team going forward, 50% career conversion rate in penalty kicks
I think he’s spot on. When the dust settles on tonight we need to sort out his future one way or another. Much like Villa I can’t see his technical skills dulling with age so I wouldn’t be hesitant in offering him a two year deal. Although undoubtedly Bradley is the man who makes us tick, Séba has been central to our turnaround these past two years
Proud of this team. One hell of a ride but we didn't finish our chances. Such is life.
that delgado miss...
I gotta agree with Giovinco, TFC lost in Toronto. If they had won 2-1 or more in toronto, this game would’ve been different, thats why in copa libertadores or Champions league, the home team “must” win, no ifs or buts to put the other team under pressure in the away leg. Worked in the first 2 knockout rounds, but not the final.
