Apparently NE are after him.
Huge name. Keeps proving people are wrong when they say he is finished. He'd still tear up this league.
And a couple people happy to see him in the NE region. As long as he doesn't look like he's mailing it in.
sell the farm.. win or lose we get to see a FIFA World Player of the year 2000 + 2001, there are maybe only 30 guys alive in the world who can claim that honor.
we'd still be missing a striker who could finish 3 or 4 times out of 10. but if we had that and Figo.....MLS cup would be ours :)
He's been rumoured to come to the MLS ever since I started reading about MLS. I just don't believe anything I read about Figo and Zidane any more.
i dont believe hed come, but hed still dance around people at walking speed.
then hed just score from just past half as to not spend too much energy.
NE is his best bet. there is a massive Portuguese population there, although Im not sure if they have become americanized already.
They really drill the pledge the allegiance down there
can anyone post related articles regarding Figo's ties to NE? I'd like to see what they are saying
our midfield is set, lets hold out for Del Piero :D

Metro Boston has more Portuguese then Toronto
Fall River, MASS - 47% Portuguese!!!
4.4% of the entire state is of Portuguese decent.
Get him. Play him as striker. I bet he can finish those chances...
Are you kidding? Figo at TFC - that is unbelievably preposterous! Can you honestly in your heart of hearts believe TFC/MLSE will spend any more serious money. They won't even pony up for a decent 'friendly', whether the fans want it or not. They can't even negotiate with the punters at city hall to get grass, or in other words, don't want to pay for it. But mark my words - the meeting will exist to discuss the ticket price increase next year. C'mon - in all honesty - give your heads a shake... I'm not admonishing anyone in this thread, I'm hopefully spreading a dose of reality. TFC will not spend big until the crowds (ticket sales) dwindle... Figo..... :smilielol5:
A friend of mine lived in Boston and she said that the Portuguese and Brazilian communities were huge there.
In salary cap impact.... Ricketts + Sutton = Figo
Who are you admonishing if not the the people you wish to shake heads?
Any and every time Figo is mentioned we'll talk about because we have the 2nd largest group of Portuguese on the continent (among other reasons like he's actually a good player). The first? NE area.
So as long as Figo keeps talking you're gonna keep laughing.
oh yay. Figo is coming for his retirement year of footy
Fall River....(I hate that band)
I know in my heart of hearts that this can't happen, the Teacher's Pension depends on MLSE income and spending on Figo would cost...... its nice to dream though.... I mean this entire team/management/league is really a joke, busch league, and bringing Figo here wouldnt do much for the league's cred.. but who cares... I just wanna see him play in front of me.
BTW - this was discussed already amongst Os Portgueses in the Liga thread.
He ain't coming.
Let another team blow their dough on him and I'll watch his highlights.
If the Revs get him thats great, we only play them once more this season after the transfer window opens.
Last thing we need (literally) right now is another midfielder.
