^I still can't read CMNT stories without wincing.
-
I try to concentrate on the fact they are distancing themselves from the recent past and focusing on who we must build upon.
Can't wait for tomorrow night!
-
I've come out of the weekend with a real bummed out feeling. Negative vibes.
You know you watch something like Champions League and yeah I know super high level, but you see those supporters.. being rewarded.
And then absolutely nothing of substance on or even off the pitch from TFC leaves one feeling so helpless. I've been more unwavering or unquestioning in my support over the years than most, but now find thoughts of needing a new 'hobby' floating. Keeping the faith is just.. I dunno. With international football quiet this summer and euro leagues finished, not really anywhere one could turn.. Not that it's even comparable than local football...
But hey, canwnt will be fun right?
In the dumps,

^Feeling pretty much the same. However, at least there is Confederations Cup this summer (will be interesting to see if any of the stadiums get finished on time)
-
"Most Lucrative Match in English Football" being played today. Championship playoff Final - Watford v. Crystal Palace.
-
DeRo upset at his most recent club. The pattern continues...

It would be nice if we had well-run lower division clubs to turn to instead, but that's not coming for another couple of years [hopefully].

DeRo to TFC? Maybe Payne can do a deal with his former club.

YES! Another 35 year old DP.

Well, at least next year you'll be able to root for Ottawa Fury FC. They can't be any worse than what we're watching currently.

we are down that path already...might as well make it a healthy one.
Dero has a supreme diet and excercise regime that lets him be this intense at 35.
This team is a revolving door anyways, age doesnt matter when no one is here longer than 3 years

As with most 35 year olds player football. They don't suddenly phone it in. We have to face the reality that 2010-2011 DeRo is different from 2013 DeRo whose play will decline or has started to decline already. It'll affect him more because relies on an explosive first step to get beyond his marker.
-
Depending on DeRo's contract, I would take him for cheap since he fits a need (creative player) and most importantly brings leadership which TFC lacks. In reality, he isn't going to come back and play for MLSE unless he's desperate. Also, KP probably doesn't want to add more older players with huge contracts.

I haven't seen that explosive first step in quite some time. He has a pretty adaptable game, don't think it's as reliant on athleticism as you are making it out to be. Also on comparison to a European player he likely had far less wear and tear because he started professional training later and Canada is barely active in international play compared to other footballing nations. That can make a huge difference.
That being said, he seems a bit slower than usual this year, but don't write him off yet, he's streaky as hell and normally balances out through an entire season.

I'd say the wear and tear has already started given the limited amount of appearances over the last 1.5 years. Obviously a player like him has value but not at a DP price.

^ I wouldn't take him for DP money either at this point.

Our man sven!
If anyone remembers the beginning of the movie, "Our Man Flint", you'll recall that the representatives of the UN entered the characteristics of the man that would save the world into a "super" computer to compile the results which came back with only one man which was agent Derek Flint. The head of the UN then said "no way" while all the other representatives said he was the only man capable of doing the job. The president of the USA then called the head of the UN and said its Derek Flint.g:D In our case its Sven Goran Erikssen.
C'Mon, you know he would be the one to get it done:

I see it as a below average possibility that DeRo could return, but a possibility none the less. I can see him wanting to end his career in TO and KP is a fan of DeRo. KP is the type of wheeler to get DeRo and maybe a high pick for 2 average players kinda thing. Never say never.
