Apparently, they are there for being All Stars that season.
Yup. From what I can tell the side on the left will be for official MLS awards such as Gio's MVP and the Eastern Conference Championship, while the other side will be any All Star Appearances and i'm assuming anything else of that nature.
Sort of, but not quite. The left side is "iconic TFC moments, the right is MLS honours."
This makes much more sense than the original wall, which just reflected Mo Johnston and how he treated things.
Personally I like it a lot, and it makes a lot of sense. Yes, it means Defoe is up there, but he did win MLS honours.

who thought this was a good idea?
some all star spots are purely trivial and shouldn't be interpreted as anything more. I mean Ronnie Obrien's all star appearance is a perfect example of how being named to an allstar team doesn't mean squat. 13 games, 0 goals. Maybe when his name came up, team FO should have had the common sense to scrap the idea of making plaques for meaningless blips in team history.
I wonder if this will trickle down to other MLSE teams. Looking forward to seeing the Leo Komarov banner at the ACC.
Is that Manning in the Toque?
I see now that in the MLS Honours section is has All Star appearances (signified by stars) as well as MLS Best 11 awards signified by a XI
Him or Patrick Stewart
As for the wall, it looks a bit weird and seems poorly executed. Perhaps all the All Stars should have been on one plaque? Perhaps Conference/MLS Championships should be separate from Iconic Moments. That, or iconic moments didn't include MVPs/ROYs.
overall doesn't seem thoroughly thought through. There's a tongue twister for you.
Maurice Edu Iconic Moment
We Sold him to Rangers
We Bought some Grass
We Spent the next few years binging on Doritos :stogey:
(well it kinda seemed like that's what we did)
I'm not too crazy about this wall. Why is it outside? I would rather see it inside with nice lightning at North or South side.
What i want to know is what happened to the big drum
theres not much space, are they anticipating a shitty future
theres no reason for ronnie or defoe to be up there.....ronnie over guevera is pure silly
The Gilberto Defoe free kick kerfuffle deserves it's own iconic moment plaque
:flare::flare:NEEDS MORE FUAD. :flare::flare:
Cringe worthy. Defoe on a wall of honour ffs
They got Ronnie O'Brien's number wrong, he wore #5 not #7 as indicated.
One does wonder if NYCFC would put into a hall of honour Frank Lampard's first MLS All star game.
I am fine with Defoe. He came for the money, but who doesn't? He scored some beautiful goals.

A lot of DPs are bigger busts than he was.
I like the wall, I just think putting players who have been to the All Star game a bit munch...
Did Ronnie perhaps wear #7 at the ASG??
Yes, he started at the 2007 All-Star game and wore 5 as he did all season long with the Reds. Found a pic on Gettyimages where you can see #5 on his short. To confirm what Phil mentioned, he did wear #7 in 2008 for San Jose after they selected him in the expansion draft.
Metros-Croatia makes no sense for a TFC wall
WTF, where is Laurent Robert???
I totally agree, we need to fill that Gap, it looks bad on TV
I know that online the most popular thing seems to be naysaying everything new, but I gotta admit, some of these honours are kinda dumb. When I think of great TFC club and player moments, I think of the inaugural season, Dichio's goal, Jim Brennan as first Captain, The Miracle in Montreal, DeRo, and the combination of Gio, Bradley, Altidore and last year's playoff run. Metros-Croatia makes no sense to me and putting Defoe up suggests the club is again completely out of touch with what the fans feel and think. I know I couldn't care less about his All-Star selection. And yeah, can't say I ever remember O'Brien wearing #7 on the back of a TFC shirt.
