Why so early?
I'm away on our first real vacation in 8 years and I don't know if I will make the time to do this Thursday....
To hell with the game. Where are you going Og?
In Iceland enjoying the pizza and French pastries.
I have a scarf here because it's effective in this weather (the 2014 onyx & red).... But nah.
Fair. Enjoy your time there! I had a blast when I visited in 2010.
I called the Charlotte 3-0 loss so this will be worse most likely so I am going to go 4-0.
Edit - I am letting the season just pass by so much I though we were playing the baseball NY team. Okay so now that it's NYRB I will say another 3-0 loss.
Sticking to my 3-0 loss prediction through the end of the season. Been working pretty good so far. But this could be worse for sure. My wife kept yelling at the TV for someone to help our goalkeeper out last couple games. Only bright spot recently has been him getting a shot with the first team. So hard to watch these games though. It is just so pitiful.
we lose 2-0 here.
we always lose 2-0 to the NYRB away
If we lose here we will be going into the start of next season with no road wins in 18 months
Lose and we clinch the wooden spoon. Take that Colorado.
Whatever metrics it takes to convince MLSE to get rid of Manning, I'm all for it. MLS has progressed beyond his competency.
New Jersey energy drinks are in the thick of the playoff race and rounding into form - unusual for them given they run around so much.
2-0 sounds right - it almost always is that score in this fixture.
I thought Jim Brennan summed up our Charlotte performance aptly:
"One win in 19 games and you still walk on that pitch with no effort whatseover. It's disgraceful and I'm disgusted. This TFC team? Fucking make an effort, man. They shouldn't be wearing that jersey half those guys. "
The above is unfortunately why i think like so many others around here have stated - we need to drop the sentimental stuff, the feel good stuff - scrub down to brass tacks and push for changes that feel wrong, but need to happen.
It’s said they want to try and refurbish the Italians mentalities. Try to build up Osos confidence and make him part of the talisman of change and go forward culture. None of these guys deserve that chance to get their spirits lifted by change. I’m sorry.
We’re at a point now where it isn’t just that we’re far away from 2017/2018. Most players brought in have only known one thing - be drilled an indoctrine of proprietary football, and lose. Battle for points. Hope for a tie. Lose some more. Lose, lose - lose. There isn’t a single person on the squad atm that has a winners mentality or have the callus built up to deal with adversity and flip a cagey result into 3 points. Not Oso, or any of the Canadian guys, Italians or anyone here not brought in this summer.
This is gonna sound like an asshole comment, but we are so bad mentally that every single one of them need to be gone. They don’t deserve to stick around and let someone else come in fresh and have their morale boosted from that. That should have been them, and they’ve fucked that chance.
I seriously apart from a few of the young lads and our keep prospect, don’t want to see any of these guys on the field come end of next summers window.
Fuck sentiments- yeet everyone of them out to trades, waivers, sales - get new positive players who haven’t rotted to a losers mentality and create a positive atmosphere and happy spark again.
End kind of salty rant lol. Definitely a 2-0 game for the bulls this game lol
I think it would shock people how low the standard of professional soccer can get. We're not even in the conversation for worst team
But we are really, really, really bad. 100% agree we need as clean a break from the past few seasons as we can get.
Anyway yeah hopefully we don't lose this one by alot I guess?
It would be nice if someone on this team played like their future at TFC under Herdman is on the line. Because it is, or should be. This game should at least be revealing of some people's character.
I figure they will play good for the last match under Herdman and be more like the team that played vs Philly. The brass will spin this as "a sign of good things to come" as will Herdman but in reality it will just show that the team could have done better than 1-20 down the stretch but chose to be a bunch of standing around, lazy, unaccountable, zero pride losers from July to October.
I will say that if it's like the Philly match and it's like a switch was flipped and we play great then that means all our leaders & veterans need to go by any means necessary and I am including all of them (Bradley, Johnson, O' Neil, Osorio, Insigne, Bernardeschi). They let this happen under their watch and that's not something that needs to happen again plus letting the kids see the vets get the axe might show them how things really are.
