"My little girl is seven and I spoke to her about it, even though she's still a child she has an opinion, and she told me she actually wants to live in Canada," Robinson added.

aww. He even asked his 7 year old for her opinion!

I can't wait to see Carl back on the field for us!

Robbo is (Kingpin's gonna love this) pure class!

No, but he really is.

Knowing that he loves this team and wanted to stay enough to take a hit on his pay makes me appreciate his contribution even more.

Atta' boy Robbo!

Robinson said the determining factor in his decision to stay was that a return to England would probably mean the end of his MLS career, and the Welshman wasn't prepared to say goodbye for good just yet, stating it's his hope to end his playing career in Toronto.

Goosebumps...I gots them...

This isn't new. It was mentioned when he originally announced he was re-signing over a month ago.

They're reducing the upfront hit on contracts because they have allocation money, which is only good for this season, coming out of their ears. You can bet they're not actually making less money.

Just judging on this story and some of the other ones in the media recently, seems like the mood in the dressing room is good. Dichio is happy, Robbo is happy, etc.

It would be good to come out strong early on with some wins before we hit the summer quicksand.

Well that depends on what they mean by pay cut if they mean he's making less money then he's making less money, but if they mean he's counting as less against the cap then he could be getting the same

OK I gave you stick the other day John, but that story was written for the reader who knows TFC - it had a fresh angle and some interesting information about his thought process- nice job.

When "paycuts" are bantied about, I wish they would also refer to the cost of living.......which just happens to be substantially higher in Britain. Sure, he might get paid more over there.......but less goes into the savings account at the end of the day...........

Ok. Who told her promised her candy to get her to say this? :) No way he'd leave with his daughter saying she wanted to stay. This is awesome news. Even more respect for Robbo now.

Who can blame him! They have better music, TV, sports and movie's...but real life in the UK sucks.

it's a footy article, not an intro to macroeconomics

The best part of the article is the end, when he says he talked to the Wales NT manager about hopefully missing fewer MLS games this season.

This attitude and class is the reason why his name is the first I have ever put on the back of a jersey besides my own.

Thank you Mr. Robinson.

HOW FITTING IS THIS SONG NOW!!! PERFECT!

Credit for this one goes to the "douchebags in mid-113 who famously throw/threw beer on Usector", who prove that when they're being friendly and not being douchebags, they can be quite pleasant, productive and even valuable.

To the tune of "Mrs. Robinson" by Simon & Garfunkel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnW59E-zyZY&feature=related (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnW59E-zyZY&feature=related)

Verse 1:
And here's to you Carl Robinson,
BMO loves you more than you will know,
Woah ohh ohh!

Verse 2:
And don't forget, Carl Robinson,
The faithful fans believe in you today, <original line was "BMO holds a place for you to play" - I editorialized and changed it, I don't know which I like better>
Hey hey hey!

Apart from the 2nd line in the 2nd verse, I REALLY love this song/chant, and I think if we iron it out a bit, it would be brilliant.

What does everyone think? Carl deserves some appreciation, I can't believe we don't have a chant for him yet.
