I think they are talking about a load deal. I am not sure how long though. Maybe until the start of the MLS season or the end of the EPL

theres an article on goal.com but it doesnt mention whether its a loan or not, just that fulham want him back.

We got Barrett and Frei for him, if he goes back that'd be even better.

didnt we also get some allocation for him to? Barrett has a new four year deal and frei is GA (I think)

needs to fleece another team before the season starts lol.

Im assuming you have not watched the Prem lately lol winning one match and getting 3 points can make a huge difference in staying up for Fulham so 2 months worth of matches is a big deal.

Im thinking its more foolish for Chicago who needs him fit and around with the rest of the team, im not sure what theyd get for sending him out so close to the start of the season

well it won't be 2 months. today is Feb 1.. by the time he'd get there it'd probably be mid-month. Chicago's first game is March 21. They need him back prob by March 15 at the latest to get ready.

They be stupid to loan him out now.. if they wanted to do this, they should have done it in January.

How about money and a good relationship with a premier league team.

from a TFC point of view, it would be good to see him go to Fulham, then get injured and be out for many months ;) I'm so bad....

Serie A and now the Premiership are proving to be mere springboards to the MLS season ;)

Injury or missing part of the start of the MLS is quite concievable if this goes through. I can only see this as positive news for us. Surprised to the Fire allow this if it comes to fruition.

their roster is more or less full, so money wont help and a good relationship with a premier league team wont help if one of their top players gets injured and misses significant time. I doubt they will send a replacement back to Chicago

We'll all enjoy watching Barret play while Chicago is left with nothing.

Anybody else get the impression maybe MLS is encouraging these loans, or even helping arrange them? It's going to look awfully good on our league if three of its top players can produce week-in and week-out in three of the four top leagues in the world, only to come back and play here for the rest of the season.

Yeah i think your right. I can see Donovan playing well for Bayern. Becks will do well. Mcbride will continue to be strong. Beasley will come back. Mo Edu will have a good foundation to build for next year. Altidore will kill it. Adu will start to get some first team playing time. All in all, i think the MLS knows what its doing. The league will become stronger, no doubt.

i'd like to know what these loans are worth to MLS. Might be a nice way to "feed" off the success of other leagues in tougher times. If revenues are down a bit in television ads or whatever, just loan a guy for $500,000 for a few months and make it back.

Good point. They're probably making a profit off Donovan and definitely would off McBride, given that he was at sub-DP money (if I recall correctly.)

Hardly a done deal. This article basically says a rumour of a rumour who was rumoured to be rumoured had a source that rumoured he would rumorely sign.
