Guatemalan forward Carlos Ruiz has agreed to a contract with Olimpia of Paraguay for six months.
The striker was released at the close of 2008 by Toronto FC, his third MLS team.
The Most Valuable Player of 2002, Ruiz won the Major League Soccer championship the same year with the Los Angeles Galaxy. He scored a golden-goal in overtime of the final.
Ruiz was traded to FC Dallas in 2005, but returned to the Galaxy for the 2008 season.
