De Guzman rips into Canadian Soccer Association
The Associated Press
Canadian midfielder Julian de Guzman blasted the Canadian Soccer Association on Thursday, saying it does not take the game seriously, and that is what led Canada's national team to play like "a bunch of amateurs" in its failed bid to qualify for the 2010 World Cup.
De Guzman, a midfielder with Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna, told the Associated Press that Canada's national team would never succeed internationally until major changes are made.

If Julian De Guzman is sincere about changing the fortunes of Canadian soccer, he needs to start naming names.
There is merit in the words of Canadian midfielder Julian De Guzman; but there is also meekness.
Just three weeks after referring to the Canadian Soccer Association as a cancer (http://canadianstretty.blogspot.com/2009/01/julian-deguzman-interview.html), the midfielder was back on the job by adding a bunch of amateurs (http://canadianstretty.blogspot.com/2009/01/julian-deguzman-interview.html) to his assessment. A cancerous bunch of amateurs may indeed be harsh, but it is nothing a little thick skin can't fix. If JDG is serious in his plight for change he needs to start naming names and quit with the ambiguity.
