CARSON, Calif. -- Sacha Kljestan had a hat trick as the United States national team beat Sweden 3-2 in an international friendly at The Home Depot Center on Saturday night.

With five minutes remaining in the first half, Toronto FC defender Marvell Wynne was taken down inside the penalty area. As soon as referee Silviu Petrescu pointed to the spot, Kljestan picked up the ball and walked over to position himself to take the kick. After the whistle, Kljestan ran up to the ball and slammed it on the open right side of the net as Dahlin dived to the left.

Ives had high praise for Wynne during his match commentary. He said Wynne will become the 1st choice at RB.

Mo better start looking for a RB as well. I believe we'll sell him soon.

I watched most of the match and Wynne still looks like such a raw football talent. There were many instances where he was content to just boot the ball away rather than dribble or make a high percentage pass.

I would not say he was amazing last night, but he didn't seem out of place compared to the rest of the Americans. I have no doubt he will be a solid right back that will be hard to keep a hold of, but I still think he need a lot more polish to be a star.

Which makes him an ideal transfer target. The only issue is price.

I had basically the same impression.

I think this assessment of him has been with him for a while. Even before TFC. I think he's great though. He has the game (read speed) to recover from his mistakes. If he believes in himself more, he'll get thsoe ball skills refined, and make it in Europe.
