Pretty amusing speech from the kid picked third last in the MLS Superdraft. I am rooting for him to both make the Fire and take a course in public speaking. :D

I didn't know Matthew McConaughey played soccer.

this guy rules.
so awesome he stuck around to be the 58th pick, i assume most other players leave if they aren't in the first 2 or 3 rounds.

It's a good thing he got that phone call or he might still be talking, or ordering a pizza or something...

It was probably his agent on the phone trying to salvage the day.

Yeah, that guy's got an Owen Wilson thing going on too. Maybe he should give the soccer thing a pass and look into acting!

Sounds more like he was bored out of his tree throughout the draft and couldn't believe it when it happened!

I am rooting for the guy, due to the fact that he had the stones to go up to the podium that late in the draft and still thank everyone who helped him even get drafted. Don't know about the need for two agents when you are the third last pick in the MLS draft though.
But go get 'em kid...prove us all wrong.

If anyone has ever been to a draft, or even watched a draft, they are boring as hell.

This guy was probably just exhausted.

going in the 4th round in the superdraft isn't that late really.. that's like second round of the NBA or NHL drafts.

looking at his highlight reel on youtube, he seems to be pretty talented if a bit small/skinny.

That was great!!! lol.... Good for him though...to stick with it and stay there shows his comitment to the sport and how much he wants to play. Hope he does well.

Actually the NBA draft only has 2 rounds with hardly anyone outside of the top 20 picks overall amounting to anything
With the NHL its more like the 7th and final round

He meant in terms of waiting times ... since the NBA and NHL have 30 teams.
