Hahahaha. Comical. Remember, MLS is still trying to distract their fans from how glorious we really are up here. It would be bad for the league to recognize TFC for anything success related. Columbus and the rest of the league (including and especially the players) know who the best fans are. It doesn’t take a genius, just a visit to BMO.

Don't be upset.

exactly boris, so the league gives a trophy to some fans who have never seen anything better up to this year, in a market that is struggling, all this trophy is another marketing gimick, we know where we stand, we have strong support for our club, and we dont need a trophy to tell us, although we could have sold it on ebay, which is exactly what i thought you were gonna say, "grow an ego and keep it on ebay" is how i read that for the first time, wow, and im gonna drink tonight, i should start now!

in those other sports it's actually true though

basketball or hockey will fall eventually, but you don't really need to play the games to acknowledge that the best baseball and american football teams in the world are in the american leagues

America still has the best hockey and basketball by a country mile.

The Russian "KHL" is already flagging, due to sagging oil prices. There are widespread reports of contracts simply not being honoured, etc.

Did you hear the shite those two tossers were spewing?! "they brought out everything that's good in the game" - WHAT THE FUCK???!!!

I don't really care about some pissy award they gave out (check the attendance figures, case closed) but how do these idiots get paid money to smear shit all over our screens and monitors? Unreal.

PS - is it possible they were actually giving out an award for the best supporters group? They mentioned a fan group for each of the three finalists. If so, and it's not based on overall fan support for the team, then the award is less laughable I suppose, but that's nto to detract from the fact that, on the whole, the Crew fans are a joke.

Yawn. I'm pretty sure the real fans of other teams in the league know that we're the best. They need to pander to the fans of the other teams because, frankly, we don't need this crap. We made BMO the best atmosphere in the league. Let them pander to The KKKrew and the other teams that need the boost. We've got the support down, we just need the squad to match it.

The funniest thing is, look at the clips that they show. First clip is us and it looks like a party, chanting, jumping, flags, etc. it looks like beautiful chaos. the next clip is Houston and its just a numch of people clapping. Then Columbus, and its just a bunch of people standing there until they see the camera is on them, then they start clapping.

Do I care? no...but honestly, it's pathetic.

TFC and DC United are the only two that should even be nominated.

Yeah yeah.. I still think the same of it, even though we 'won' before. Anyway from the footage I remember seeing of Barra Brava this year staying in the stadium during the brutal storms in? Boston? New York (actually DC) ... hell it was somewhere. I'd have given it to those guys for refusing to leave a stadium that was being closed due to bad weather.

My question to MLS to Extra Time:

Are you on crack? Columbus gets your fans of the year award? Here's a review of Columbus's fan support. In their home opener they get owned by 2,500 visiting Toronto FC supporters. They play in a half empty stadium for most of the year, until the bandwagon jumpers come on board (there's hardcore support for you). Their only sell out is vs. the LA Beckhams. Along the way, they bring negative publicity to the MLS with incidents of racism (caught on tape), fights with West Ham supporters (caught on tape) and throwing items on the pitch (caught on tape) that forced the league to adopt a zero tollerance policy on things like streamers - ruining a good tradition started in Toronto. What on earth did these dimwits do to earn your honours?

To be clear, I don't really give a damn or feel hard done by (it's not as if I'd wear an 'Extra Time' honour as a badge) but its stupid things like this that surround the league that keep calling the integrity of the league (and it's institutions) into question.

The truth is I don't care that we don't get recognized. OUR boys know we're the best.

columbus fans are shite i know...but one reason we had no more then 100 fans come for an away trip to Toronto this year was because Toronto only saved 100 seats for away fans!

Not like Columbus would bring more then 100 fans but it kind of pisses me off because i think DC United and Chicago could actually bring some good numbers to Toronto. In 2007 Chicago had about 250 fans come to Toronto...and we bring even bigger numbers to Chicago, i bet had we saved more seats for away fans this year chicago would of got even bigger numbers this time around, they wanted to bring 500 this year. It really could of became something big, it really gets a great rivalry going, limiting the numbers of away fans to such small numbers really kills that rivalry!

so, maybe 4 away supporters bring 100 fans to toronto. the rest of the time... nothing

Chicago bitched about there not being enough seats available to them in Toronto, special arrangements were made for them and they were given extra seats and they didn't didn't fill those seats.

More seats for away fans means less seats for home fans. When we've got thousands of people who support TFC on a waiting list for tickets (including me) we've got to take care of our own first. We can't put aside 500 seats for away support because *maybe* 1 or 2 teams might want them.

sure they could, they do it all the time in Europe. They find out ahead of time if fans want to travel...if they dont then they sell them off, even clubs who have fans waitting to buy tickets always save at least 3,000 or so tickets for away fans whether there is a waitting list of home fans or not.

Now i know we are no Europe club and dont need 3,000 seats to sell, but we have what 4,000 single seats on sale each year at BMO right? they dont go on sale till close to the seasons first game. So they could easily save 300-500 seats that would normally sell as single tickets for away fans. Then Before the season even starts they ask say Chicago fans if they wanna buy them, if they dont then they sell the single tickets to Toronto fans. Since only 1 or 2 teams would buy them (DC and Chicago) really besides those 2 games, ticket availability at BMO field would be the same.

And having 3-500 fans to chant at can create a good atmospohere, it gets borring chanting " can you here Chicago sing....nooo" well of course not theres only a fucken 100 of them what you exspect. Now 500 can make a difference!

im not sure what you mean here....but having at least 1 or 2 games a year where away fans actually come in decent numbers is better then never having any away teams bring decent numbers!

Yeah, CBus begged and pleaded to fill a 2nd short bus to Toronto. I think once BMO is expanded there wil be more tickets available for traveling supporters. I would love (in the future) to see 1,000 DCU or Fire fans come up. If you think T.O. matches are electric wait until we actually have away supporters that can be heard.

it really depends how much they expand the stadium. And it depends how much of a demand the tickets are....if the tickets are still selling like hot cakes i dont think it matters how big the stadium is, MLSE will keep just selling tickets to home fans because they dont need the money from away fans. Now if they expand and all of a sudden tickets arent always sold out and what not then i bet MLSE would start trying to sell tickets to big groups of away supporters, might even advertise them to Chicago or whereever away fans are!!

I also think it depends on if they truely create a traveling supporters section as well. I know the Northeast corner has pretty much been for the travelers but I'm not sure if that's been the 'Official' spot.
With expansion there may be plans to expand down the NE corner.
We'll just have to wait and see.
