MLS's top stars look overseas

OK, now that the MLS season is over, it's time to figure out which players won't be back next season, as they make the move to Europe. Here's the odds-on picks on who won't be back:
- Landon Donovan, L.A.: The MLS' top scorer in 2008 is making his third try at playing football in Germany. He's on loan at Bayern Munich, but he has made clear his commitment to try and stay in Europe full-time. The January transfer window is when the move could go permanent.

In an article about Liverpool & the Habs, revelation that Gillett is essentially broke. (This may explain why the Impact had such a low-ball bid -- they were forced to rely on Joey Saputo's cash).


According to a lien filed in Delaware, Gillett has taken out a high-interest, $75-million (all currency U.S.) personal loan from a U.S.-based private investment fund, putting up his heavily-leveraged share of British soccer giant Liverpool Football Club as collateral.
