So...

According to a post in the comments, the beer at BMO is $12.50 for a 28 oz draft.

$12.50/28 = .44642857

That makes it about 44.64 cents per oz.

So.... using the UK Pint size which is apparently 20 oz. we get:

20 x 44.64 cents = $8.93 CAD

8.93 CAD = 4.77853 GBP

Which puts Toronto well on top of Premiership beer price...

Now I don't claim to be good at math so if anyone can prove me wrong do so :)

but they are not allowed to drink in the stands in the EPL, right? so consider the added charge the price of privilege ;)

True they are not allowed to drink in the stands or stand in the stands unless there is a goal scored or in standing room!!

I hate to say it, but the beer in the U.K. is far more superior than the draft at BMO, that's why I drink the Imported cans of Carlsberg or Tetley's. I hope BMO brings in more GOOD beer. Call me a beer snob if you like, but the 'Flavour Nuetral' of the big North American breweries is far from palatable.

Cheers :drinking:

Pints are not available for purchase within the grounds in the EPL.

ya know. . what ROCKER said.

ASK THE_LOWER_EAST_SIDER what his solution is to this cock-up.

you don't need to compare it to EPL prices to know you're being ripped off, just compare to normal pub prices right here in the city.

Never have I been in a sporting stadium that sold genuinely cheap beer.

Even in the states, where the cups are HUGE and the cost is low, it's still
a good mark up on the cost over buying the beer in a grocery store.

Parky has a point here. .

WHEN ARE WE GOING TO GET THE 48oz killer cup like Chi-town?

(3 pints, one cup, like. . . $10)

even pub and club prices can be a ripoff. not as bad as at a game, but still bad enough.

I don't get this...

We already know the beer's more expensive there. Just like in every stadium.

Drink at a bar or somewhere else. If you don't like the price at the stadium, don't buy.

At the pitch you pay $120 for a polyester shirt but in any other store you would pay...NOTHING because you would never buy a polyester shirt. Starting this thread is like molesting a dead cow...Fucking easy to do but who would want to.

At least the cups here are plastic and don't leak. Joe Louis Arena in Detroit serves beer in these huge cups - AQUARIUM size - made out of something like rice paper. Cup begins to dissolve after about 10 minutes and begin leaking beer. Customer chugs it, buys another. Beer sales soar and the joint becomes uncommonly rowdy.

If they can figure this process out, do you wonder why they've won so many titles?

I agree.. and let's not forget despite the crazy prices, people still two-fist big beers down to their seats. The price can't be "too high" if people are buying so much of it every week.

There's these guys in my row who go back at least three times during the game for more beer.
