I do think the grey tops look better than before.
And I am glad the squiggles are gone from both home and away shirts.
But I'm not sold on the grey around the shoulder stripes.
It looks ok on the grey top because it's dark grey on light grey.
But on the red it looks a little clumsy.

I can't believe I'm about to say this... but I may actually like the grey tops better than the red now!

All the hype about the jersey was for naught.

Totally disappointed in the jersey. Nothing new, just a money grab scheme.

Similar to all the BS about getting new players. At the end of the day it will amount to nothing.

How is this different from any other club around the world?

Giambac,

Why do you even bother posting anymore? Everyone on the board has made it pretty clear that they don't care what you think.

I love the Canada flag on the arm though, great addition. It would be cool to see the Toronto flag on the opposite arm for later editions as well.

I know we have discussed price already...
But the first two years we paid $99 for a top... is that right?
And now it's $20 more this year?
Is that how much it costs to sew on a collar?
And will the away kit cost less because it doesn't have a collar?

i dig the flag patch on the arm...that was a must. but i cant believe they went with the same gray as last time, like wtf? dont get me wrong, i love my TFC away jerz, but usually the away kit is a chance to try something new...a new flavour if you will. disappointed with that. they shoulda used the charcoal gray from the home jersey piping...woulda looked much sharper.

the 'All For One' on the jerz is a nice touch, but is that our font or something? cant say im feelin that. it rings of time when our city named its basketball teams after movies that were popular at the time...woulda liked to have seen a more classy job on that

12-04-2008, 08:49 PM
Well that was dissapointing. There is not authenticity on the shirts nothing that represents TORONTO. They could have incorporated the Ontario flag somewhere but I guess then we would look like British wanna be's. BUT wait we are under the British Empire so what is there to pretend about? When the Governor General has more power than the Prime Minister what do you call that? ANYWHO! I guess nice jerseys will be left for when the team has another horrible season at which point they will sucker people into a start fresh approach..ALSO WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CITY's COLOR BEING BLUE?? Stupid MLSE is turning Toronto to Red. I hate the dumb Bank of Montreal Transformer logo on the former...seriously BMO in Red that doesn't even make sense their official color is BLUE..if it was CIBC different story.

I do but unfortunatley they are doing nothing other than trying to fill their pockets with more cash.

I mean c'mon we will be just entering our 3rd season, do we really need a new jersey? Is this really any different than last years jersey other than a few minor tweaks? Why do you think they have come out with these jerseys?

When will they sign players? That's what their focus should be on.

So at a gas station, you have Regular (87 octane), Extra (89 octane), Supreme (91 octane) and Giambac fuel (with -50 octane).

Just kidding. :D

I happen to think a new jersey wasn't really necessary but then again, it's not out of character in the football world. The designs themselves are a sideways step, IMO. The grey got better while the red got slight worse and together, they cancel each other out. I was - I wouldn't say annoyed by but - against the idea of changing the lettering on the jerseys at the start of 2008 but that was a league decision, not a TFC one. Nevertheless, change can be refreshing and it's possible that I'll come to appreciate the new jerseys more over time.

onemanbarmyarmy
12-05-2008, 09:37 AM
Am I right to assume that the league gets most of the cut from jersey sales? If so then you can complain about the leagues money grubbing. If the team gets the money we should be allowed to use it for team oriented endeavors. Allocation $, better practice facilities, new grass pitch etc. If we can't use the money for that sort of thing then complaints should rain down like poisoned darts upon those in charge.

I just got back from Centresports at the ACC. There are about 50 2009 kits on the rack in various sizes - no major line up when they opened but it was getting busy when I left. Standard $120. Like em or not, if you want one that is all that is there. Not much other stuff there - I guess they won't stock up again until everything comes in in the new colours. Everything left is XXL.

-Don't like the Home long sleeve. Looks over done and like a training jersey or something.
