Mr Mo Johnston IMO has done a not bad job so far .. This is Only the second offseason ever ..
It is very hard to get people to

1) Canada
2) field turf
3) MLS
4)new team sub par record

He did bring in a tonne of new guys last year..
We have many picks in next draft (high ones)
and now we are getting DP (most likely)

Anyone that bashes Mo needs to give there head a shake..
TFC will be in playoffs next year , you can bank on it..

If we're still shit this time next year then lets talk.

If we're not contenders by the all-star break next season, his seat had better get hot. If we're not in the playoff, he's gone.

I'm sure Tim Regan is ready to step into any role TFC throws at him anyway so why's everyone so uptight? ;)

Calendar of events:

start of the season -- allstar break -- end of the regular season -- playoffs

There are 4 perfectly good milestones that we can use to judge the performance
of the team, coach and the man at the top of it all. I'm willing to be a bit gentle
with my criticisms at the start of the season, just because we've traditionally
picked up players a few games into things. The allstar break is a huge one.
We can tell if we're in a spot for the playoffs at that point, and if we aren't.....

This is the year Mo have to prove himself. Right now, I hope he does just for the good of the team.

You are right Damiiano, Mo has already solved our problem at CB with Tim Regan. Now as long as he can get Lombardo and Cunny back, then he would have addressed our problems at Striker. Then the final touch will be Samuel for DP.

Play-offs here we come.

What about the Canadian Championships? I would say the team needs to win that next season and get into the playoffs.

About Tim Regan, is he still a scout or is he some kind of assistant GM?

forgot about that. I was just thinking of MLS regular season milestones.

We damn well had better win that cup this year. Granted, Montreal is
a hell of a lot better now than when we played them, but we should be too.

incredibly sane.

But I still think the preseason should be enough to get it all in order and start strong.

In fairness, when Mo started, we had planning permission for BMO Field. he built the squad from the ground up and some of his signings were absolute genius - Brennan, Robbo, Dichio to name a few. Wynne was a superb trade, and he was savvy in the way he got Guevara and Barrett (both good players) IMO. There has been dross brought in along the way, but it was stop gap stuff and players acquired specifically to be traded in other deals. if you look at the core of the squad after two season, it's basically pretty good:

Sutton
Dunivant
Wynne
Ricketts
Robbo
Guevara
Brennan
Barrett
Dichio

Add in decent squad players like Harmse, James, Edwards, Ibby etc and the core is pretty good. Mo does need to address a couple of serious issues in this off season though, in that we badly need a top level CB and could use a poacher to consistently get the ball in the back of the net rather than assist in the build up play. but he has plenty of good draft picks lined up, plenty of salary cap and (we think) a DP green light to boot. So if he does the biz this off season, he'll have done really well in the two years or so he's been in charge.

But I do agree that if starts to fall apart by this time next seaosn he's on borrowed time at best.

EDIT - to the extent that he was responsible for bringing in Carver, than that was also a great move, especially with the added bonus of guys like Winsper joining us.

Until we move to your single table, no playoff format what's the point of starting strong?

All that matters is finishing strong. It's preseason until transfer windows in the rest of the world close. Let's not fill up the salary cap until we actually need to, until we know who all is going to be available.

As long as the league has this system, let's use it to our best advantage.

Mo is a like a stupid when he keep signing englanders and think they a will win. These a men play calcio like they are from the ape man. They have a no grace, if they are with a the sex like they play the football then I a sorry for their wives. Ha Ha

Lombardo did not a score a the goals so he had to go, but he was a good a player. He make a pass to Edu for a the Chicago goal and a he show that Italia only country that play the Joga Bonito.

When I come to Canada I play for a small team of people close to my street. We play each a sunday. We have a one english man on the team and he a was the worst player I ever see. He was a fat because he always a drunk and he had a red face. He bring his sister to the match every a week and she was a so ugly, she make a me want to cry and get back on the boat for italy. Actually, I fly, I did not take a boat. But when I see this a cow lady, I get home however I can. We had a sex but I did a not like it.

Well...

Let's look at Mo from another perspective...A few points to ponder about our illustrious leader.

1) His questionable relationship with his agent and the disproportionate number of TFC signings being represented by this same person.

2) Talking up grass indirectly for the Mo Edu transfer booty, when it was not in the cards for Mayor Miller or Tom Anselmi.

3) Installing a revolving door for triallists at BMO Field.

4) Andy Welsh, Oliver Teliby, Laurent Robert, Pie Man

Mo is simply not the man to get us to the promised land. His only significant skill he has shown to me is his ability to draft NCAA players pretty well, but that's about it.

Pistachio Disguisey
11-18-2008, 03:01 PM

Maybe a my a english not good when I a type. I mean, I not like the sex because she was a not having an attractive body.

But my cousin Mario say that a I should not worry. He say that pussy have a no face.

I a don't a think that Italian players would a like to play on the turf at BMO field. It is a rediculous to play on that, it is plastic. I hope that Mo try though, if not, then I think they should make him fired. Italy is the champions of the world. Why a look for a player from not as a good country?

Last a season I meet a beautiful woman at a BMO. She was there to see Lombardo, but when he not score, she cry. I find a out that she really drunk so I take her phone number and a ask if I can a call her.

To be fair - the issue with Tebily wasn't that he was crap, it was that he didn't like it/want to be here. Having watched him at Celtic, it was only a matter of time before he blew a gasket that cost us huge, but either way - good player or not, I think Mo gets -1 for the signing. It's not just about ability, it's about their state of mind and if they want to play in TO

Yes.

Go back, look at some old footage, and see how many of his passes would have been goals if they were aimed at Barrett instead of Cunningham.

I think the absolute biggest indictment of poor judgement here is the acquisition of Ruiz. I'd want Robert, Samuel, Cunningham, or even Welsh back instead of that fuck.

or even (dare I say it) Dichio.

in one game, Robert set up Dichio for a simple tip into the next, but the Danny ended up on the wrong side of the keeper. The GK saved it with a jump, and then it was back to business. A few minutes later, Robert put the EXACT same ball in front of the net, and Dichio ended up on the wrong side of the keeper again. you could see how frustrated Robert was.

I'm not making excuses for Robert's bad attitude, but he did play at a skill level that was way beyond most of our team (when he actually used it)

The Ruiz "aquisition" was shenanigans. He was like concentrating all of Cunny's uninspiration and packaging it into 2 games. (did he play more than 2 games?)

My favourite Ruiz memory is noticing him at the 60-somethingth minute and not being able to remember if he had started the game or if he had been subbed in at some point.

I've got faith. There is an article on the TFC site that talks about Carver and Mo scouting in North Carolina (note crazy NCAA soccer rules).

We've got tons of allocation cash, approval for a DP(s), good pick positions in the draft and a good core of players returning.

Significant moves and improvments are needed for next season - but it looks like all the pieces for that to happen are in place. As long as Mo puts the pieces together, we've got some real steam brewing for next year.

Is it March/April yet?
