I was talking to my father in Ireland today and he mentioned that he read in the local newspaper that Toronto FC (among other clubs..e.g. Leeds Utd.) is looking at a few Cork City FC players, among them Colin Healy and Joe Gamble. Cork City FC is in dire financial straits so may be offloading players.. I can't say the players would be of great value maybe, but who know's? Kevin Doyle was picked up from Cork City. Anyway, interesting snippet and shows that TFC is looking at least...it's unlikely a minor newspaper would have something about TFC if there wasn't something to it?

Mo was supposed to be going on a scouting trip to Ireland last year - not sure if he actually did though. I think there are some players in the Irish League that would do well in the MLS. Healy’s been with some big clubs. I think there might be some better options for TFC on other Irish clubs though - Drogheda United and St. Pats for example.

Healy would look good in a TFC jersey...But at least its news...TFC rumour have dried up since seasons end.

Mo's "Scouting Trips" so far have been useless... so unless i see results i will assume the trip was to visit an old friend of his....

^ FTW.

Seriously though, it wouldn't hurt to check out some players in the Irish league. He just might be able to pick up a good deal like Sully suggested. Not really the sort of place I'm wanting him to focus on, though...
