As the rest of Major League Soccer prepares for the playoffs and L.A. Galaxy fans wonder if the proposed loan to AC Milan means they've seen the last of David Beckham, Toronto FC and the San Jose Earthquakes will meet tonight in a match that will help determine who finishes last in MLS.

Toronto FC to play at full strength in final game
Just because Toronto FC has been eliminated from playoff contention doesn't mean coach John Carver is going to give his regular starters a day off.
Carver said earlier this week that he plans to field a full-strength side when Toronto visits the San Jose Earthquakes Saturday in the team's final game of the Major League Soccer regular season (CBC Bold, CBCSports.ca, 10 p.m. ET).
And even though the game is meaningless, Carver expects his players to play with intensity and conviction as if their entire season hung in the balance. ....

CSA appoints Fonseca to CMNT staff
The Canadian Soccer Association announced today that it has appointed Tony Fonseca to the men's national staff coaching position. Mr. Fonseca's coaching responsibilities in the technical and national-team area will include the men's national youth teams up to the U-20 level, the national-training centres, scouting duties and the Association's coaching development courses.
