Ready for the whirlwind

A raw wind under cloudy skies, cold temperatures and a threat of rain was a sure signal another TFC season is drawing to a close.

In fact the team never even ventured outside on Tuesday morning, preferring the cosier confines of the weight room. But after the season ender in San Jose Saturday night, this franchise will enter a whirlwind of an off season. Preparations by management are already underway for the expansion draft which will stock the newcomers from Seattle shortly after the MLS Cup on November 23rd.....

Looks like Philly's team is done if they don't get a new ownership already. Jeez that is sad to see.

wow, i feel bad for the SOBs. They get their hopes up then get it ripped away from them. Unless they find another investor i really don't see how this team can get off the ground.

True, but it would be great to see Montreal in the league.

I'd feel better about it if it was KC or Columbus or something. Philly didn't even have a chance

pure speculation on his part... but it would be exciting if Montreal got a speedy entrance into MLS.

maybe they'll make Philly one of the 2011 teams so they have time to rebound from the financial situation. Move Montreal to 2010 -- so they come in after Seattle. then pick another city to join Philly in 2011.

Hopefully we can get this done. I think Montreal has a better chance to survive out of all the citys that applyed for the expansion. Hopefully they can bump them up.

Well, this would be a sort of replay of 1981 when the NASL's Philadelphia Fury moved to the Big O and became the Montreal Manic!

Guys, it's a totally unconfirmed rumour. I'm trying to track it down, but right now there is no confirmed source -- let alone a story.

Ben, I first heard of this rumour when it was reported by brownbear on the V's forum three days ago. A short time afterward this rumour was also reported on MLSrumours. You may want to PM brownbear, or check out his thread if you haven't yet.
