The turf gets an assist.

Agreed - the only reason it went in. Other than the distance on the actual boot, this was neither skilful nor impressive.

I still think it was impressive, you gotta know where your playing and the kind of surface it is. Thats why during practice you gotta pay attention to the bounces. If Sutton did that at home everybody would be going crazy. Gotta give the NYRB Goalkeeper some credit for that goal.

If Sutton were to score a goal, BMO would fall apart from everyone going crazy.

As much as I love Sutton....that ain't going to happen....he isn't that accurate......

But the place would get torn apart if he scored! :D

Their starter was in the stands suffering 'roid rage over that one.

Paul Robinson scored a carbon-copy of a goal against Ben Foster, though he didn't get an assist from a plastic pitch.

that was entertaining...
too bad it had to be on a surface with all those NFL lines on it.
people around the youtube world will be looking at this video...
... what they will see is a good look at the shitty conditions within MLS at the moment.

just a little embarrassing...

The NFL scouts are watching... how much do NFL kickers make?

you guys are retarded.......why are you talking about the pitch so much? That really had nothing to do with the goal it went in becasue there was poor/no communication between the defender and the keeper. As mentioned in a previous post Paul Robinson did scored and identical goal on "real" grass and the culprit again was poor communication......of course the goal was shit luck but I guarantee if you ask the keeper about it he will be the first to admit that

Yes I remember that, but the pitch still makes a huge impact. Ben Foster was sleeping

wow...this reminds me of Egypt's Essam El Hadary when he scored with Al-Ahly against Sundowns. It counted for Hadary. It was a really lucky goal because it was indirect, but it ended up hitting the post, bouncing off the opposition goalkeeper and went in. :D

Ahahahahahahahaha!
On a side note, nice turnout, important game and it looked like 7000 people showed up. This is NY isn't it? Those NFL lines kill me.

I'd wager the turf had more to do with that goal than anything else, which is just another argument to be made for mandatory natural surfaces across the league. :)

Don't get me wrong, Blue. It was a solid kick followed up by a shit response from the D and Keeper, but just look at that bounce!

By the way, this is the first time in MLS history that this has happened.

If you look closely, you'll see that both keepers are laughing. They knew it was a fluke.

turf or not, the shot was perfectly on target, the keeper was too far forward and the defender didn't hustle back enough. That goal is a human error mistake, and damn funny.
