Winning all that matters to hopeful TFC
On fringe of playoff picture, Reds need maximum six points

TORONTO -- There are dozens of possible playoff scenarios with two weeks left in the MLS regular season, but for Toronto FC, the formula is simple: win. No amount of scoreboard watching will help unless TFC takes the maximum six points from their remaining two games. "We were very unlucky down in Dallas last week and I think if we could've gotten three points there it would've put us in the playoff mix," said striker Danny Dichio. "Now we're relying on other people a lot and we've just got to go on the field and [win]."

TFC season hanging by a thread

LARRY MILLSON
Toronto FC plays its final home game of the Major League Soccer regular season today against the Chicago Fire at BMO Field, hanging on to the barest hopes of qualifying for the playoffs.
A loss would eliminate Toronto, which has 32 points from 28 games, from playoff contention.
Toronto, which has one away game left next weekend against the San Jose Earthquakes, could also be eliminated with a tie depending on other results.

Toronto FC still alive in playoff hunt

Forget about watching the out-of-town scoreboard.
Toronto FC needs a win against the Chicago Fire Saturday (CBC, CBCSports.ca, 3:30 p.m. ET) in its final home game of the season in order to keep its slim playoff chances alive.
Anything less than a victory against Chicago would all but eliminate Toronto from the playoffs for the second consecutive season.

Attakora happy to be back
Reds defender hoping for another chance

Toronto FC defender Nana Attakora is hoping to be given another chance in the center of defense when the Reds take on Chicago Fire at BMO Field on Saturday (kick off 3:30 live on CBC). Attakora impressed on his return from a six week injury lay-off in last weeks 2-2 tie at FC Dallas.

Barrett aims to douse Fire
By DEAN MCNULTY (dean.mcnulty@sunmedia.ca), SUN MEDIA

Chad Barrett would like to send a message to Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire this afternoon at BMO Field.
And that message is that they were wrong to trade him to Toronto FC in mid-season for the rights to Brain McBride.
Barrett has become TFC's most effective forward recently and would like nothing more than to snuff out the Fire's chance to get home field advantage in the first round of MLS playoffs.
A win by the Reds at BMO will do just that, even though Chicago already has clinched a playoff berth in the Eastern Conference.

Bumped by McBride, Barrett finds his feet

Someone simply had to go when the Fire's trade for Brian McBride became inevitable this summer. But Chad Barrett never expected it would be him.
The 23-year-old striker thought he was safe, thanks to his team-high five goals through late July and that one indefinable sports commodity: potential.
