Consistency

Consistency in the roster, no more of this adding players willy nilly and renting players for draft picks
Consistency on the field, no more long droughts where the players mail it in then out of the blue they have a good game. Or even on a short term basis, no more kicking ass one week, then mailing it in the next.

So one wish, consistency.

If I had 2, the 2nd would be for more professional behaviour out of the coaching and management staff. It's embarrassing the way Mo lies to cover his ass all the time and the hungover, post coke binge interviews in sunglasses have to stop. Carver by the same token is an embarrassment in how he presents himself to the media...blah blah blah everyones fault but mine I'm a ranter ohh I'm so mad. BUT we were only given 1 wish.

that they NEVER EVER wear those pink Jerseys.

We are the REDS!!!

when other leagues want to do a "shout out" to a charity, they wear the ribbon on their jersey.... or a sticker on their helmet.
or pink bats...etc...
they don't wear F'ing PINK!!!

I'm dreading this.

Wear a pink ribbon or armband.
use a bunch of pink balls, autograph and auction them...but don't have our guys out there in those UGLY jerseys.

It's going to look dumb like the Sea of Red when the NEts played the raptors...

IT's going to look horrible.

I know that the heated rivalry with Montreal will happen (if it isn't already happening already - which it is). We play them twice next year anyway, even when they aren't in the MLS. There's no doubt in my mind that Toronto and Montreal will develop a hatred, but right now.... I'm looking south.

If Miami had a team, I would go to EVERY away game. Plus I'd book my vacation schedule around it. Maybe I'm a part-timer, but I'm never going back to a shit city like Columbus to support my team. If I'm investing the time and money to go somewhere, it will be somewhere I'd want to go even if TFC wasn't there. Boston, NYC, Miami..... all places worth seeing on their own. Columbus, Salt Lake, Kansas City..... whatever

This whole "rivalry" with Montreal is so trumped up.

How can people sh!t all over the Trillium cup and say that this manufactured rivalry between Columbus and T.O. is stupid, then turn around and say that we have some massive rivalry with Montreal? Why? Because the leafs and habs are rivals? (and not very strong ones anymore).

I wasn't on the trip to Montreal, so I can't speak of the experience, but other than the Montreal Oultras, did the rest of the crowd consider it to be a huge rivalry? In fact, when they played here did people outside of the SG's consider it a rivalry?

The Leafs Habs rivalry is one that is based on more than the sport, there were religious, cultural and status factors that all made that rivalry what it was. Since many of those things are now no longer relevant, the rivalry has pretty much died and now many people consider the Senators to be the Leafs main rivals

I'm not saying Montreal wouldn't be a good rival or that it won't end up happening - but you can't on one hand say that rivals can't be manufactured, then on the other hand go and make up a rival.

For me - the closest thing we have to a rival right now are the Red Bulls. Each game has been heated, the players don't like each other and there has been a higher level of electricity at BMO when the RB's come to town.

Just my opinion.

For the record i dont think the rivalry with Montreal is trumped up as there has always been one with that city and ours and always will be, this team and their team is only an extension of this rivalry and outside of these two teams, i couldnt give a fuck about the rivalry itself.

I agree and disagree.

I agree that the connection of a rivalry to the already-passed rivalry between the Leafs and Habs is weak. That simply is not the case.

However, there is a genuine dislike of the two cities. Montrealers hate Toronto because well...they just do. And Torontonians view Montrealers are their sad little brother who is always trying to hard to compare themselves to us. That there is a rivalry between the cities is true...that it's because of hockey? Maybe that is where it started, but it certainly isn't the reason anymore.

I think Columbus was more so manufactured as a pointless cup as it was created in a league we already existed in. I do agree to a point that it isn't as intense of a rivalry as the old Leafs and Habs games, but then again we're only in our second year. This cup (CCC) is more than just beating Montreal it's being Canada's best something we should be.

I agree with you - and like I said, if Mtl/Tor develops into a rivalry it would be awesome.

Also, please don't think I was supporting the fake Col/TOR rivalry, because it's garbage.

No, that's simply not true. Maybe when the Maroons were still in existence the Canadiens represented the French Catholic fans, but even then that would be a very iffy statement. There's never been any religious-based rivalry between Montreal and Toronto because both cities have been too mixed. Remember, when the Nordiques were in the NHL the Canadiens were the federalist-English team, that would make them far more similar to the Leafs and now they are back to just being Quebec's team.

As for the cultural rivalry (I say this having spent the first 30 years of my life in Montreal) Montrealers just always felt sorry for Torontonians - the city that went to bed at 9:00, the city you couldn't have a drink on Sunday or on a patio. There was never anything to 'hate' about Toronto, it just wasn't important enough.

Now that it is, Montreal still isn;t insecure enough to need a 'rival,' and I wish Toronto was the same.

If the Habs ever had a rival it was whoever was in their way to get to the cup. Boston, Philly, the Islanders... whatever. Now that the Candadiens aren't guaranteed a spot in the final, people are manufacturing all these rivalries to take attention away from the fact they aren't winning the cup. Habs fans never used to buy into that crap, but there's a younger breed now who don't know any better.

As for my wish for next year, maybe 88 minute games?

For me - the closest thing we have to a rival right now are the Red Bulls. Each game has been heated, the players don't like each other and there has been a higher level of electricity at BMO when the RB's come to town.

Just my opinion.

The Habs biggest rival has always been Boston these two team just hate each other, not quite a Celtic Rangers hate but close. The Leafs have
no real rivals anymore, even Ottawa gets tired of beating up on them.

my one wish for next season is the morons that put up signs like MO MUST Go and We Deserve better stay the f**k away from BMO and find the sporting entertainment elsewhere..the negative fans we go do with out..no doubt Leafs fans let them bugger off back to the acc.

ya, who was the cunt who put up the WITH MO WE BLOW sign?
hopefully he didn't renew his season's tickets.

Why? Why do we have to be positive all the time? To me, part of being a supporter is letting your team know when they're shit. There were times this season (most notably the second half) when they were shit, so we let them know. If you constantly blow sunshine up their ass, what do they have to work toward? Sometimes the best motivation comes from negativity.

Rumors are that if Barca gets their bid accepted for a team in Miami, one of Barca's first team players will be playing in their MLS team. My guess is Henry would be sent there since he's old and he has hinted at playing in the MLS at one point. Good, since he does fuck all for the *real* team really. Would be fun to make fun of him here...

my wishlist:

1. Keep the fucking ball on the ground, learn to pass and build plays
2. Grass plans
3. More of the last part of the season.
4. Clean up of center defense
5. A solid DP but only if the above has been addressed first.

speaking the truth. being a supporter does not mean you have to be blind, deaf and dumb. you can't tell me that anybody is satsified with what happened this season. i'm not at the point of throwing Mo under the bus, but others are, and they certainly have every right to feel that way, as well as to express said feelings. their passion is just as valid as anyones.

my wish...a tight, skillful team of footballers (dp or not) who can

1. pass the ball around
2. make crosses
3. score goals consistantly
4. put pressure on the opposing team when defending (seriously, that why we look so open)
4. lend me $10 so i can buy a pack of smokes
