Wynne's goal was 100% scored by Dallas' keeper (why the hell was he standing so far out of his net???)
Brilliant set up by Barrett though!

Max Bretos says: "yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaasss"

I remember back in the gold old days when we were so happy to score, we would do everything we could not to lose the Goal of the Week if we were nominated.

A beauty but if I had to impartially choose, I'd pick Gaven's full volley. Brilliant!!!

the Fox call for Marvell's goal says it all:
"Speed kills in Dallas! Eighty eighth minute...The goal that could apply the knockout blow to Dallas' post-season hopes and set the fuse for Toronto to make it to the second season!"

if only.

Seriously Paul...if you guys don't raise holy hell about the refereeing it would be a disservice to the players and the fans.

The quality of goals in this league is really improving.

You never used to see cracking shots like this very often just a few years ago.

Personally I liked Gaven's half volley.

do I have to be objective again or can I vote for Wynne? ;)
are supporters supposed to be objective? ;)

Wynne's is probably the most athletic goal combined with skill.
the LA guy doesn't exactly have to run, with a defender on his ass, and then shoot over the keeper. more things to go wrong there. The LA guy's goal is a fluke from a nobody player.

I was always under the impression that goals of the week should be those that are done with a great degree of dexterity and amazement. Both of Wynne’s goals, as great as they were for such a super guy, were neither. They were however, exactly the types of goals you want and need out of a defender. If he didn’t score, would they not have both been dead sitters otherwise?

1ST NOMINEE Great first save on the initial shot. Goal itself was...meh
2ND NOMINEE Wynne does a great job under pressure. Goalie is far too out
3RD NOMINEE Beautiful Set peice where the defender gets a head on it
4TH NOMINEE Beautiful strike from 40 yards from a defensive blunder
5TH NOMINEE Half volley from just outside the 18 yard box.

Impartially believe that any strike from 40 yards out is a shoe-in...but who votes impartially :noidea::lol:

I dunno about you, but I don't see defenders outrunning everyone on the pitch very often. It amazed me that's for sure.

And if you look again, you would say that it's another goal with Wynne's left foot...on the run...with pressure coming down on him from behind.

A sitter this was not.

Speed is a must in most professional sports so I am not amazed.

Having “talent” at this level to kick with both feet shouldn’t be considered talent rather a necessity.

His goal is scored 9 times out of 10 opportunities, which doesn’t really make it all that spectacular anymore. He’d tell you himself, I’m sure.

He was just quicker than the guy is all.

Agree to disagree I suppose.

I have a different opinion on the long bombs. It's just my opinion though.

I'm not a fan of long shots being goals of the week. They look spectacular when they come off, but it's a low percentage almost luck kind of shot. Players try them all the time and the odd one goes in.

My preference for great goals are sweeping moves. Or good counter attacks. Goals that require a variety of skills all clicking at the same time, rather than just a guy kicking it as hard as he can.

100% Agree!

Neither of Wynne’s goals required a great degree of accuracy or even skill. They required a heads up volley into two wide-open cages. Any prudent player would have done the same thing. Both sitters in my estimation even at this level of play.
