Mitchell vs. Brennan

In the matter of Toronto FC captain Jim Brennan vs. Canadian national soccer team head coach Dale Mitchell, not all the facts are in evidence.

We know that Brennan didn't pick up a lot of playing time in the first three World Cup qualifying matches, and was not called for this weekend's trip to Honduras.

Well written as always. Some of the comments to the article are entertaining.

Whether Brennan is a starter for the CNMT or not, he is the type of character player that the team needs to have. I'm not sure that he's "done" at 31, but he has a limited life span on the international stage. There is still a gap between him and the next generation of players, though.

How is the CSA still operating in a vacuum?

Brennan should talk to the other members of the CMNT, and get them all to come out and make a joint statement that they will refuse to play for the CMNT again, as long as the CSA is running the show.

That is pretty hard to ignore, and would be all over the news. It would also publicy humiliate the CSA, which is something they dearly need.

as soon as we are mathematically out of contention, I'd love for some of the senior players to blow the friggin lid off the CSA but this is Canada so we'll all keep quiet and pretend there is no problem.
