So this Saturday's game is tape delayed to 1:30 a.m. because of that skating sport.
Faaccckkk!
Expect the same treatment for the SJ game on Oct. 25.
Looks like Bold IS carrying live (because so many bars subscribe to that).
But seriously, why would CBC want and who thought it was a good idea to give them the broadcast rights to Saturday night games during hawkie season??
Bah!!

Face it, hockey draws WAY more then TFC. And the TFC game is still accessible, could be worse.

On top of that, Bold only costs $2.50/month.

Actually, it's about 1/3 the cost! :)
Anyway, it's just not an option. I'll be in a hotel rehearsing my sister's wedding. Boo.

You should all be glad that at least one network has taken the initiative to support a football team in a market that is, in all honesty, saturated with professional teams that are presently more lucrative for TV deals and advertisement, than TFC.... despite the fact that all these teams are allergic to winning. At least the game will be televised AND on the internet. If you don't like CBC, fine, but all this bitching is starting to piss me off. Keep it to yourself and stay brainwashed on CNN instead.

I am sure the CBC wasn't expecting a poorly performing, stale, team like the Leafs to come back this year, so the broadcast rights for Saturday are an unfortunate coincidence.

John Molinaro - I don't want to bash you on this because this debate has been had before (CBC tries to make sure the games are shown live somewhere and sold off rights to other games for the same reason, etc), and we appreciate you coming on to try and explain/help, but my question is this:

instead of putting the games not sold off to other channels on Bold, can't the CBC air the games on a free to air channel instead? Why should TFC fans have to pay to watch their team live when other TO sports fans don't? There must be an option in the CBC empire somewhere, no?

I'll leave the HD plea for another time... ;-)

If that was aimed at me, then try re-reading my post. I specifically said I'm not bashing JM and we appreciate him coming on to explain/help. All I did was ask a perfectly valid question - hasn't CBC got a free to air channel it can show the games on instead of a pay channel? If you want to see some whining, go and read previous threads along this line, or the opening post of this thread.

If that wasn't aimed at me, then you are a scholar and a gentleman and you have my apology, sir. :D:D:D

nope. channel 6 is it.

they can't show it on Newsworld since that's licensed as a news channel.
they can't show it on SRC since that's french. doubt the montrealers want TFC when they already show Impact games.
