TFC reserves defeat Revolution
Nascimento, Smith both score to lead Reds

The Toronto FC Reserve squad moved above the .500 mark once again after defeating the New England Revolution Reserves 2-1 on a very wet and rainy day in Toronto. The match was rescheduled after these two teams had postponed their original date of August 24. The first chance of the match went to the hosts in the 19th minute after Johann Smith squared a pass to Abdus "Ibee" Ibrahim whose one time shot was saved by Revs keeper Brad Knighton.

Don't expect lower prices at BMO Field any time soon:

Faced with a yawning hole in their pension plan and the prospect of soaring payroll deductions, Ontario teachers have agreed to give up half of the inflation protection that has made their pensions the envy of educators and taxpayers across Canada.
The potentially costly concession, at least for young teachers, was required for the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan to eliminate the $12.7 billion deficit estimated at the end of 2007, when the country's second-largest pension plan had assets of $108 billion.

Anyone know anything about Daniel Nascimento? Marko Bedenikovic was a guest player as well, he's a former lynx player and current Toronto Croatia player.

Too bad we can sign only one player per year out of our academy. What kind of idiotic b.s. rule is that?! Totally nonsensical! :noidea:

He's got 18 goals for the CSL's Brampton Lions leading the scoring table.

Given how the majority of them have played, some of these CSL guys deserve a better shot at making the roster next year. I don't care what level someone is playing at now, if they can put the ball in the back of the net.

I'm not sure the Brampton Lions website doesn't list is age but there's a picture of him and he looks "youngish" haha he's fairly small though at 5'8 150lbs.

If this is the same Daniel Nascimento, he'd be about 22 as he played U11 in 1997.

Also note that Tyler Hemming was in the age group just above him.

I haven't seen this posted, but Dave Bidini (the musician and hockey writer) has a documentary about soccer in Toronto coming up at Harbourfront:

I thought I saw him walk up my aisle with his son at the last game.. wasn't sure if it was him but i guess it was.. he's a fan.
