Toronto FC can't get started in K.C.
Loss to Wizards damages Reds' playoff hopes

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Things did not go well for Toronto FC against the Kansas City Wizards. TFC had no shots on goal. They had a disputed penalty kick that gave the Wizards the only goal they needed. And that dispute ended up with TFC coach John Carver being ejected from the match, and midfielder Carl Robinson being shown a yellow card. Still, said Carver, the 2-0 loss was merited.
"We got what we deserved -- which was nothing," Carver said. "We looked very lackluster, no urgency, and no creativity and very disappointing."

TFC playoff hopes fading
Associated Press

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Kevin Souter, who made the Kansas City Wizards roster on an open tryout, scored his first MLS goal in a 2-0 victory over Toronto FC on Saturday night.
Souter, who signed in April and made his debut last week, came in as a sub in the 76th minute for forward Abe Thompson. Josh Wolff sent a cross into the area three minutes later, and Souter used the outside of his left foot to flick the ball over keeper Greg Sutton.

Toronto suffers difficult loss in Kansas City
Reds fall to Wizards 2-0, face tough task in playoff race

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Toronto FC saw their playoff hopes take a real blow Saturday night, held without a single shot on goal in a 2-0 loss to the Kansas City Wizards at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. A penalty kick in the 63rd minute from Jack Jewsbury gave the Wizards the lead, then rookie Kevin Souter scored his first career goal in the 79th minute to cement the victory.
The game turned in the 62nd minute when Wizards forward Josh Wolff was upended by TFC defender Tyrone Marshall in the box, and referee Baldomero Toledo pointed to the spot. Immediately after the call, midfielder Carl Robinson was issued a yellow card for dissent.

Toronto FC down, closer to out after Kansas City loss

Jack Jewsbury scored on a penalty kick in the 63rd minute and Kevin Souter added another goal as the Kansas City Wizards took a 2-0 home game over Toronto FC on Saturday night.
Jewsbury was taken down by Carl Robinson in the box and beat Greg Sutton to the keeper's left side for the goal. Robinson was given a yellow card for protesting the call, and Toronto coach John Carver was sent off soon after, presumably for arguing the call.
Souter scored in the 79th minute, just over three minutes after he entered the game. Souter outfought a Toronto defender to take a Josh Wolff cross and chip it over Sutton.

Seeing who the referee last night was made me wonder whether the players would be motivated. Now that we are firmly entrenched in the basement alone, do we hope that we lose the rest in hope of a better position for draft picks and alloations next year?

Not only the worst team points wise, but the worst goal differential. Wow.
