I know how we were all happy to see Mo Edu in a TFC kit on the cover of FIFA 09. Sadly a more recent cover has popped up that's not as TFC friendly.

Next year they'll have to put Laurent Robert with TFC's jersey on the front to make up for it!

I like the kid but does he merrit being on the cover? I means nothing anyway.

Well.. he's supposedly the most promising US player. So from that standpoint, no it's not unwarranted. Realistically, probably. :p

We knew about this change though from the thread about him being on the cover though. ;)

It makes more marketing sense to have him in that kit.

I can't believe Maurice Edu is on the cover of FIFA 09, it's ridiculous.

It's fucking awesome that TFC is in the demo - that is serious exposure - and Edu is the reason why they could justify it. Enjoy.

I know, never in a million years would I think that could be possible.....but isn't the game made here in Canada, Montreal?

I'm pretty sure the EA studios are in Burnaby, BC, so yeah, it's made in Canada.

so why they cant seem to slip in Team Canada or add Montreal and Vancouver to "rest of world" is beyond me.

I remember seeing Canada in the World Cup 98 game (when they didn't qualify) but that's about the only favor they've ever done us.

Canada was in FIFA World Cup 2006 ... you could select them and try to get them through the CONCACAF qualifiers and make the tournamnet.

I guess that's if you set the difficulty to VERY HARD

I'm trying to remember.

Onstadt, Stalteri, Hutchinson, Radzinski, Serioux, deVos, ...

I don't beleive that, and the only evidence is this demo. TFC is about the absolute last club that it makes sense to put in this demo, yet there it is. Edu is about the absolute last person it makes sense to put on the cover, yet there he is. Somebody, and I'm guessing more than one person, is a big fan of TFC.

Vancouver and Impact would be a separate licensing deal and not worth the trouble or money.

I have no idea why Canada isn't in there yet though.

Kudos to Edu and TFC (before we were removed from the cover), but does anyone outside of TFC even know who he is?! I bet most US fans don't even really know him or wouldn't recognise him on the cover at least, and the same probably goes for Rangers fans too!

It's great that he's on there, and I like EA's open attitude to putting up and coming names from developing soccer nations on the cover, but it's almost laughable in a way! Only TFC fans really know him, worldwide there are no more than a few thousand hardcore TFC fans, and he doesn't even play for us any more!

Rangers certainly didn't know him if they paid that much for him!

The EA covers are country and region specific. The cover with Edu is only available in North America or possibly the enitre Americas.

True. FIFA 08 had Ochoa, Jozy Altidore, and Ronaldinho on the cover in North America. In the UK, it had Wayne Rooney on the cover.

Seems weird they would change it for the other platforms and not DS.

Even Ronaldihno is wearing his Brazil jersey, rather than the AC Milan one on all the other covers.
FUCK UP SHIT!
