Ok...
so some players are career MLS players, either out of choice or circumstance.

Some start their careers in MLS and move on... up or down the football league hierarchy ala Mo Edu.

Some start elsewhere and then land in MLS for a bit or until their career ends ala Laurent Robert.

Any idea as to what the average length of time a player spends in MLS would be?

i'd say about 5 years based on no data whatsoever

i'd say inconclusive as many players have been playing fooite longer than the league has been around.

how many players were around that started in year 1 that are still around?

are they close to retirement?

Then you have guys like Robbo, who chose to come here, and will probably stay for a while.
