Knight: Another game, another lineup
Well, so much for the five-man attacking midfield.
Up until this past week, the year-two evolution of Toronto FC has all been centred on the early-season rebuild that brought in goal-creating midfielders Laurent Robert, Amado Guevara and Rohan Ricketts. Combined with youthful speedster Maurice Edu and Welsh international holding man Carl Robinson, that was the central engine of the team.
In the past week, both Edu and Robert were shipped out – to different fates, for very different reasons.
Edu, GM Mo Johnston's top draft pick a year ago, was sold to Glasgow Rangers for well over $5-million. Robert, ineffective of late and seemingly disinterested, was dumped.
