That is great regardless, getting support right out of the gate as we know here in Toronto is very important, I am looking forward to a roadtrip to the home of Rocky, will be a great time.

Considering the conversion rate of deposits to actual season tickets in Seattle is 102% this may not make much of a difference.

good job philly, but I still hate you (I don't like Philly sport fans in general).

i like philadelphias fans. the sons of ben, nearly gave their city a team, and they got like 2,000 fans in their group already. and they didnt even have a Team yet. imagine how that number will grow in 2010. wow.

With a sick stadium to boot, this will be a great place to play. 18,000 capacity with a big supporters group and a ROOF! Gonna be an awesome road trip.

in philly they are smart.. they build a stadium for each individual sport. none of this multi-use shit.

I can't wait until some of these other teams hit the league. Then all those losers on big sawker can find something new to complain about besdies the fact TFC actually has fans and the majority of them are looking at empty seats.

Then we can all make fun of teams like Columbus :willy_nilly:

Anyone hazard to guess what colours they are going to go with?

I would like a purple team, but I dont see Philly fans taking too kindly that.

Havent the Sons of Ben been running about with sky blue and yellow flags and stuff? That would be a welcome sight in MLS.

76'rs had some of the worst attendance in NBA for 2 years...the team sucked so people stayed away. but they came back during the run to the playoffs. The city loves the Sixers but I think the fans got fed up of bad management (imagine if Leafs fans would just stay home...maybe management would get the message that sucking hard has consequences)

Phillies do fine. they had lean years back at the old stadium but they've got a nice park now and an above average team so the crowds are good

Flyers have a small but hardcore base of support.

The Eagles walk on water in Philly. They are god-like. their support is phenomenal.

if the MLS team gets the same type of support the Flyers get, that team will be one of the jewels of MLS.

Yeah and it is almost a foregone conclusion the team colors will be light blue and yellow.

Oh and that 4,000 number is already out of date. Commissioner Garber speaking from the opening of Stade Saputo says Philly has sold between 5,000-6,000. And Seattle has sold 16,000.

Finally... some footy fans!!!

Actually, I wonder how much of this has more to do with the MLS pissing away its rep back when the league started. The MLS really needs to get on it hands and knees and rebuild the fan bases around the league. New York should be as big as us, at the very least.

Philly is starting to look like Toronto when it comes to passion and desire to see a team in thier city... I don't doubt that when they start play in 2010 they will be bringing a solid fan base to the league..

Better then the Crew and their 40 or so travelling fans..

I hope they have a decent name, no b-s like real, or earthquake, and so on lets hope for some normal names in this league.
