Wheeler just said Salcedo had some time away from the team and just landed in Halifax. I did notice that Salcedo posted a photo on Instagram the morning after the DC United game that appeared to be at an airport. Wondering if he had to stay in the US or flew elsewhere for some reason.

I try to cut a player in Perruzza's situation some slack. He's never really started a game playing at his true position and is usually thrown into games late when we're needing a goal. He's also the type of player who is going to need others to create for him and he'll just finish chances. Would be good to see him get some run with Pozuelo or Oso creating chances for him.

That shot was badly screened by Bradley (and nobody rushed out to block the shot) but you gotta wonder if Westberg should have done better. TFC's salary dollars per ounce of performance absolutely sucks, especially in goal, but really all over the pitch.

TFC has their president trawling through Transfermarkt looking for out-of-contract players regardless of cost (instead of hiring somebody for $100k to $200k who doesn't need to trawl through Transfermarkt because he already knows it by heart, and knows the hidden gems and how to get them).

Adam Jenkins definitely has the superior voice to Wheeler and that makes all the difference. I want someone who is easy on the ears, not that guy who sits at the bar and tries to make sure everyone can hear just how much he knows about sports.

Trust the minds in this thread if they rated his showing. Bradley has felt very binary to me this season, he’s either been on or off.

Now that said, if you told me there was no point of fielding a mainly youth-based 11 in the long run because development is painful and if they work out they usually leave for greener pastures, I would agree.

But I don’t think anybody is under any illusions. Bob is using borrowed time to run these guys out until we rebuild our roster over the next few windows. To me, this is better than the alternative of rushing into signings or watching MLS lifers like Nick DeLeon.

We’ll see if it all works out but at face value it’s a reasonable given the hand we were dealt (bad Curtis contracts and an aging core)

My take would be less "does/doesn't belong" and more "is a capable backup" versus "is still a project."

Nelson is 19. His speed and technique aren't at issue, really, it's his intelligence and read of the game. Most forwards and wings build on that knowledge into their late 20s.

If he gets to 23, 24 and hasn't yet become a dependable second-string player then he's on the doesn't belong pile, a la Tsubasa. Until then a team needs a 30 man roster to be a competitive as possible. So that's seven or eight past the main squad where you can afford developmental patience.

I absolutely love this! So great that footy is being played in more spots around the country. I have to make a more conscious effort to watch CPL. I caught much more of it in the first 1-2 years of the league, but kind of drifted away. They're currently eighth overall. They're playing well, but let's not go crazy.

We are 4 pts out of a playoff spot and 8pts behind MTL - If TFC didn't get screwed by VAR - we'd probably be a lot closer.

Where do I say that they are at a different level and out of reach? I said at this MOMENT they SEEM like the better run club so please explain how that becomes different level and out of reach. I like the way they used allo to pick up Mihailovic and Johnston both are 23 and could potentially be sold on.
