Still can't believe Montreal is in a playoff spot and we are in last. Wilfried Nancy deserves an award for the work he has done.

The season may have been a write off but having the opportunity to spoil Montreal’s day this weekend makes up for it. It’s the little things folks that make for a great night

I disagree big time.
One single match, no matter against whom, no matter how sensational our team may play (even if it ends 10-0), has no business to make up for a disastrous season.

The season up until this point has to go out the window for 90 minutes tomorrow. Forget the disappointment up until now and just go out there full of confidence, be brace and fight for everything. A derby game is always a must win. We have to get the stadium rocking and get behind the lads.
Side note, any ideas if Montreal have an away allocation and if so how many?

Gonna say this

I care more about the likely next game against Foot Club then this one.

Montreal was banned from away allocations due to their Ultra group stalking & assaulting TFC supporters at the game there this year.

I looked at the line up a handful of times and still have no idea what's going on.

One CB? Bradley at CB? Okello at CB? Very sketchy 3-5-2?

MikeForbes
10-23-2021, 06:16 PM
No idea what formation we are playing. One with a ton of midfielders, I guess.

MikeForbes
10-23-2021, 06:21 PM
I would guess it is either Auro at CB or Bradley. They wouldn't just throw Okello in at CB out of nowhere.

OgtheDim
10-23-2021, 06:25 PM
Bradley as CB apparently - 3 goals for Club Foot I suspect.

Will be interesting to see how Okello does between Osorio & Delgado.

Did I miss that something happened to Soltedo? Presumably an injury that had him coming out early last game - I hadn't realised it was that serious.

Suspect precautionary. No need to push the guy who has a tight hammy

Moving Bradley to centre back will probably end up being a worse idea than re-signing Gonzalez. He couldn’t do it in 2018 I don’t know why it’s being tried again.

Can't be worse than Omar or Zavs, can't be. They just turn off way too often.

At least playing out of the back will be a little easier. Trying to be optimistic in this most dismal of years.

Kid's playing well so far.

OgtheDim
10-23-2021, 07:13 PM
JMR & Okello playing timid - very few forward passes even when an open wing is there to move towards.

portu
10-23-2021, 07:13 PM
JMR not looking out of place at all. Midfield looks fairly dynamic now that everything doesn’t have to be filter led through MB. Positive signs.

MikeForbes
10-23-2021, 07:13 PM
Delgado is basically playing a free roaming role.

Shaff’s energy, pace and willingness to work gets him the ball in good offensive spots. His final touch and shot need work to be considered an offensive threat.

Okello not up to snuff. Timid passing, Omar level speed, and a Jozy-like lack of motion.

MikeForbes
10-23-2021, 07:20 PM
Passing it around the back is gonna cost us tonight. Figured this would happen with Bradley back there.

He is too timid, but his passing has kept us possession a couple of times as he has a very quick release. He's definitely too stationary.

I dunno boys, maybe I'm watching a different game but I think we look okay. Better than them, for the most part.

jloome
10-23-2021, 07:24 PM
Oh now, that's why he's a prospect. Okello head fakes a guy off him then delivers a forty-yard lead pass. Needs to cover more ground though, for sure.

JMR has no trust in his own pace

jloome
10-23-2021, 07:41 PM
Cagey game, both playing pretty well. Bradley's done well. I think JMR's been good, but as mentioned he's a bit tentative. Same with Okello.

Mullins has been our weakness so far. No confidence he has enough speed or technique to threaten them. He's good defensively but not good enough to force and finish something.

I wonder if Pozuelo and Jozy are both in the shop window. Would explain why they're not starting despite both allegedly fit and healthy.

Imagine Poz would be more threat up top alone than either Mullins or Jozy.

This is Michael Bradley FC. That won't happen.

OgtheDim
10-23-2021, 09:34 PM
When Bradly isn't a starter anymore, that change will happen - that should be 2022 but it will be by 2023 for sure.

Bradley isn't a CB, no matter how people think he could be.

Views from the stadium:
Oso and Delgado were great in the midfield.
Jozy can still perform in bursts (but that doesn't mean he should be a DP next year)
We need to refresh at the keeper role.
Shaff keeps getting better. Sky is the limit.
Montreal did not look good.

Although Pantemis absolutely stole them a point. The stat line on this game is pretty one-sided.

I mean, on paper we absolutely dominated them.

Looking at the stats, 4 to 1 on yellow cards is total BS. I felt Chapman was very uneven. The early yellow to Mullins really set the tone. Yet Chapman avoided giving Montreal yellows for many hard fouls, tactical fouls, etc. Plus not even calling fouls on Montreal for tackles straight through the back and more.
