Nashville is one of the stingiest defence in the league. I wish TFC got Walker Zimmermann instead of Omar Gonzalez.

But Nashville doesn't score much either.

Probably a game of Nashville high pressure bunkering and TFC pinging the ball around but can't breakdown Nashville defence. Then a lucky bounce creates a chance for 1-0 win for either team

Bradley creates a vulnerability, especially when with any slow CB's near him. He warps play around him, asking to start every play. He reduces Poz' effectiveness by denying quick ball movement. He forces Osorio or Delgado to be played out of position.

Great player in his time - might still have a great game in him against the right team. Nashville isn't that team as we need quick ball movement & Bradley isn't that anymore.

Do not overlook Nashville - they are not going to be a push over at all. Of the 3 teams we could have played, I thought our team is likely set up the worst against them. They don't press high, so Bradley will get the ball & slow it down. They have excellent DM's, so Poz & Oso & Piatti will have difficulty getting past. Zimmerman is good in the air & can't be bullied so Jozy/Ayo might struggle. Meanwhile, they are great on set pieces (a weakness of ours).

Where we would beat these guys is with width & pace. But...alas.

Not gonna lie, maybe the past few days I hadn't quite had that *playoff feeling*, but it's certainly here now. Despite everything going on in the world, there's that looming tingly feeling in the stomach creeping up as the day inches closer to kickoff.

From everything we've seen so far these playoffs, throw everything out the window. Seeding/ranking, etc mean nothing. To win would be a welcome blessing, and do to so in 120' minutes would be a statement with how the games have gone so far.

Woo first post since before lockdown! It has been REALLY hard to care that much about any sports this year, and especially TFC since it wasn't until August that I actually started believing we would actually finish any kind of season but here we are.

I'd start Richie but if he's coming back from injury put him on as a supersub - having him Altidore and Nelson (I think he's due a first goal) is a pretty nice luxury to have if we still need to break the game open. If we win tonight though it should really be Laryea and Auro as starters for the rest of the playoffs, even if Morrow gets healthy again. Wouldn't surprise me to see DeLeon and Pozuelo switch positions to make our midfield a bit better defensively. Bradley has been back for a few games now and still looks as slow as he did in the first. He could step up today but I wouldn't bet on it. If Delgado were healthy, MB should be benched, but we all know he won't be.

I have no idea what to expect from this month, in MLS or otherwise, so I'm just going to try and enjoy the ride. Cmon you reds

I think this is pretty close to what is being planned. Jozy isn't going the full match so see how much you can get from the start and hopefully he can bag one before he needs to come off. Nashville tend to park the bus, meaning we can use Jozy's ability to drift into the midfield and create options. We are going to build from the back and hold the ball.

Nashville looks more vulnerable than I expected, we could easily have a couple. It's one of those games though where TFC have to take their chances. Otherwise Nashville is good for a quick counterattack goal, especially as Gonzalez and Mavinga are sometimes drifting way too far forward and/or to the side as time goes by. And playing Nashville when they're up by one goal or more, will not be fun.

We've had a few quicker plays in offense which worked out great except the finish, need more of that.

Also sometimes TFC had a lack of urgency on defense and in defensive midfield, especially in the last 10 minutes or so. TFC players slow jogging all over the place, almost lackadaisical.

TFC's high press was pretty good though, for over 20 minutes, Nashville couldn't get anything started.

And honestly, we like to complain about refs, but TFC have been lucky a couple of times in recent games including tonight.

Oso...if the ref had given that red himself I doubt it's coming back. It's probably not "clear and obvious" enough to overturn during the playoffs but theres a lot of grey area.

Pozuelo has been quiet and had a few missed simple touches/passes and that's been a problem going back to the last philly game. Dont know if his form has dropped or hes gassed but we need him back to top form asap

This is who we are. This is what we have been all season. We are not good, not bad, we are meh. How many dominant games have we seen from TFC this year? If we do win it will probably be 1 - 0 with a late goal in the last 10 minutes. It's what we have seen all year. Why do we expect something different?
If I were to put a point on this, i think we just need a better striker or forward up top. Ayo is young and industrious, maybe he gets there. Jozy never looks like he’s in the game anymore. Similar story with our wide forward options.

I look at what certain top strikers provide in this league. You have to stay glued to them at all times and be aware of them being a threat to score. Our guys chip in the odd goal but otherwise to me it looks like they live and die on service from Pozuelo, Laryea and co rather than any brilliant individual effort.
